He was never going to get to that - if i remember right, even their striker (who Vestergaard was marking) didn't consider it reachable.  That was doyle's responsibility all day long and he doesn't keep with the goalscorer.

That might be true, I will need to look at it again… however you need to attempt to do something to just put the striker off… backpedaling and jumping even if you don’t feel you can reach just gives something for the striker to think about. Anyway, he is a liability and when coady is in we will see an improvement

We may have been playing bang average football from Day 1 of this season, but it has still bagged us 5 wins out of 5.

Just imagine how we will be when we finally get going. Need a trouncing win to silence the doubters. And that said, when will we actually have a striker scoring league goals this season?

Perfect start continues but we can't rely on midfielders forever, Enzo.

This is Enzo‘s system…Not yours..

Too many fans seem worried about who is scoring..:dunno:

Young player gets some of the managers comforting words,

then c‘est voila…. bags 2 goals

Mavididi…also got quite an amount of shots off…

Oppo worried & chasing about over our strikers,

wallop space for others to fill the gap..

Put a tactic in terraces & oppo‘s minds,then hit them from elsewhere..

Not that far over his head that he couldn't have dealt with it if he'd actually jumped for it, and we're back at my original statement

No chance. Doyle let his man get in front of him and Mads should’ve come for it, just a mix up. It was at least 2 foot over Vestergaards head.

Being hypercritical perhaps, but I do think we need to really blow someone away fairly soon to get the confidence and expectation going in the stands as well as on the pitch.

We saw in 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 how difficult a place to visit the KP was simply because everyone in the stadium expected us to win, and it helped us play with a swagger that isn't quite there this season. When we'd go one up in those seasons, that was usually that. We still look a bit nervous going one nil up at the moment, but that perhaps isn't going to go overnight after two years of fragility.

We won a hell of a lot of games 2-1 in 13-14 iirc

Every game so far has felt like we've just done enough to get the win. The performances haven't been great, but they've been good. We seem to have a steeliness to this team, that's the most pleasing thing to see. They are all up for the fight.

Defence looks composed and comfortable as long as they aren't getting turned and have to run back from the half way line.

Winks is absolutely crucial to this team. And Casadei has got to start, the midfield looks a lot more fluid with him there. Mcateer was MOTM today with those two goals, but I can't wait to see a natural right winger on that side.

So far it looks like the teams with the most firepower in this league is Us, Norwich, Southampton and Leeds.

Top of the league though and hopefully we're only going to get better. Up the citeh.

But he is ball watching and not doing anything, it was a floated ball, if he back peddles it makes things a little more difficult for the striker. Not good defending, you can defend even if you can’t get the ball. If it was a whipped ball I would totally agree he never was in the play

Exactly. Beginning of that season, around this time, I remember us looking pretty ropey against a poor Birmingham side. They took an early lead. and it was 0-1 until about 80 minutes until we scored a couple of decent goals out of nowhere, plus a penalty. 3-2 in the end.

We've looked better so far this season than we did then. And look what happened.

Woohoo!

Get in there!

However, (and i've only listened to commentary) scoring late is great, given a choice i'd do it all the time, it's the best way to win and feels better than a 2-0 or 3-0 imo, but it is concerning that we're doing it every game, we cannot rely on it, today was arguably not that late though, what's more concerning is how we're coming out after half time, we seem very slow and have been caught in 3 games now.

But 4/4 (5/5), 12 point on the board and top of the league, I don't think many would have called that.

He is marking one player, doyle the other very tightly - for whatever reason doyle doesn't jump with the goalscorer.

Did Ricardo get away with a hand ball late in the match? Looked like it but no replay so it was hard to tell.

Looked like it from what I saw. It definitely gets checked by VAR in another league...

Seemed to hit him in the face - i don't think he knew much about it.

Good win really. All Rotherhams play was down their right and to be fair Doyle struggled but dug in. Easy day for Faes and credit to Vesterguard again who is doing alright at filling in and I though was solid and calm on the ball again today.

Winks excellent at linking defense to attack, always showing.

KDH turned the ball over for to many times first half, but those driving runs are a real asset, just wish he could deleiver a decent final ball, sure that will come.

Also if Mavadidi starts to finish he could easily get 20, he's managed to work very clear cut chances in ever game.

Think it's a big week for Rudkin and the team, need to off load Castagne, Daka, Soumare, Soutter, can bit have 300 a week just rotting away.

Also some striker cover needed. Look short if Kels gets a knock (assuming he stays).

Credit to academy lads aswell, playing an important part, will only make them better.

Was thinking this myself, McAteer central (not really a winger, despite todays positives and fair play to the lad), KDH comes out until he decides to bother his arse and complete a pass.

Winks, McAteer, Casadei and a winger coming in might be the way to go.

...I felt he (KDH) was not as influential in the previous game, I was looking for him to grab hold of the game but it did not happen!!!

Pretty much a repeat today of that, he just did not influence the game.

We are not a poor team - we're far from the finished article but we've out classed and out played every team we've faced so far.
