Enzo did say he was injured with a back problem so that's why he didn't pick him

He was signed with a back injury.  He played a couple of times when that cleared up but was then dropped never to be seen again.

Daka, Iheanacho, Vardy - don't think Enzo didn't fancy him, he just had 3 better strikers to pick from last season in a one striker formation. Would always be a struggle to give Cannon game time.

Did you just say Daka was better. You must be kidding

Makes me laugh how cannon was dropped even tho he was scoring and the fans just make excuses for why he was dropped to justify why the manager dropped him. Can’t be that the manager made a mistake and it was unjustified. Must be cannon wasn’t ready if the manager said so lol

Well it could be the player’s ability or the manager’s reluctance to play him. I guess it will become clear in time but, one things for sure, one game against Portsmouth isn’t going to define the narrative either way

There was a moment before the Stoke deal where we looked like selling him for the same sort of money we’ve paid for Ayew. I’m over the moon we loaned him out instead.

Read news today that Leicester will recall him in January for a loan to buy obligation from any championship club for 10m....the the Suns Alan Nixon has reported....seems really bizarre by Leicester 🤷

well, we would have only got 7m for him in the summer so to me it hints that we would like to do some kind of business in January.. might as well sell whilst his stock is high… he might play rubbish second half of the season or get injured!

Gives me hope that we've got a plan for Jan.

Otherwise we are one injury to Vardy away from Odsonne as the only option...

Or he might go on to score 20 and be worth double that. I dont want Sloth making any calls on our young players as hopefully/more then likely he wont be in charge in 12 months

Even having Odsonne and Daka as our only two options for an extended period if Vardy is injured is a nightmare scenario. We were clearly trying to buy a striker in the summer - I suspect we'll be doing the same in January.

We've almost exclusively had terrible or fruitless Jan windows under this ownership. I don't see us trying to the most sought after position, in January where value is at its worst.

Ideally not, but I suppose it will depend on how desperate we are. If we're hovering around the relegation zone and struggling to score, a panic buy cannot be ruled out.

Oh for sure, I could it being another desperate loan - but if the idea was to sell Cannon to add to the coffers and then buy a striker for £10m-£20m then I'd be amazed.

Jon - this suggests a level of engagement and forward planning that the board do not have.

Why? There were numerous this summer

the only ones I’m aware of were from relegated prem teams and played in the prem before  the season they were sold. Couple of Burnley players maybe.. but that’s it. Not really ‘numerous’ and kinda backs up my ‘ not many’ comment, Cannon  is playing in the champ, he has no success in the prem or anywhere else to inflate his price.
