Loving what Enzo is trying to create at the Club, but has anyone ever asked at press conferences why he puts two keepers on the bench, or is that a 'no go' area?

(Yes I know it's supposed to be a message to club boards about signing players, but I thought this new regime was above silly gestures like that!)

Now the window is over I don't think we will see 2 keepers on the bench. It could have been a message about signings but also he clearly didn't want to use players who the club were actively trying to get rid of. He may have to reintegrate Souttar into the squad though but if the rumours are true about us paying more money for Daka if he plays one more game then I don't think he'll make a match day squad again

You get called a conspiracy theorist on here for even suggesting Enzo is sending messages to the board like this.

Its all part of a tactical masterplan apparently.

"Technical decision" is all he says, and it's very unclear as to what that means.

I have a theory based on nothing that Ward is actually a good personality to have in the changing room, and that's why he's being included in the matchday squad.

It's the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

Otherwise, if you're that worried about 2 keepers getting injured in one game, you just get Choudhury some extra Keeper training sessions. (Only half joking there...)

I actually hate that phrase.

I’d be a great personality to have in the dressing room, but I doubt anybody is going to pay me £50k a week to sit on a bench

The third choice keeper should always be a youth player, gives them a chance to train with the first team and the odd cup match. That’s why signing Smithies was a very odd decision last season, not the only odd decision this club has made, that’s for sure.

Exactly, hire a jester for £20k a year to do that job if necessary

Iversen deserved a transfer so he can actually play football. He wasn’t bad and deserves better than being sidelined.

Like the rest last season, he played a hand in getting us relegated.

No player deserves anything, they have to earn it.

He wasn't bad isn't good enough.

Hard to understand how Iversen was in demand and got loan after loan across multiple seasons, got a player of the year award at Preston and then the one time we need to move him on, nothing.

What do you want us to do? If no one wants to buy them we're not ripping up their contracts.

Hold on, we played Ward for most of the season. Every player ‘played a hand’ but he isn’t as responsible. Madders played a hand with that crap penalty.

Possible we wanted to sell rather than loan him out.

Window still open aboard so still time.

The likes of Man City and Utd have an older head as third choice so young keepers can go on loan to get experience so it’s not an odd decision at all.

Ward will be earning as much as most the league too. For being a 3rd choice Championship goalkeeper.

You know if we do go up at the end of the season, I hope I see no one defend Rudkin. Every single one of our successes are in spite of this weasel.

Iversen play a 12 games which is a 1/4 of a season.

You said he didnt do bad, if he did amazing we would have be fighting off suitors.

No player deserves anything other then what they earn.

And my opinion is he deserves a championship club who will actually play him.

Am I right in thinking we still have 5 Senior Goalkeepers in our squad?! Hermansen, Stolarczyk, Iversen, Ward and Smithies (is he still with us?). Crazy! And an Assistant Manager (who might be still registered), who played for Southampton last season.

Are we still considering Ward as a goalkeeper?

Enzo only been with us for a few weeks. He’s shifted a lot of deadwood   He would have loved to move on a couple of keepers. The squad is looking much more balanced

You'd like to think the new winger is going to take the spot of Ward on the bench. We'll see in a couple of hours time I guess.

If there's 2 keepers on the bench today maybe it's not a message to the board and Enzo is just overly cautious 😂

Do contractual clauses exist whereby you have to pay more if someone is out of a squad than an unused sub? Perhaps that's the kind of thing that might be present if someone was signed to be an understudy. I don't know.

I should also add that a friend of mine who has the most tenuous link to the club imaginable and is hardly ever right about anything (may well post on here...) is convinced that we're close to a mutual termination with one of our keepers.

In fact, I'm being kind to him and trying to give him a better chance of being right. He said Ward specifically.

I feel kind of dirty for sharing that, by the way.
