Could he play as a 10?

He's only a year younger than Vardy but we could do a lot worse than taking a punt on him on a free. I've always thought he's a quality footballer

Rayan Cherki is now on sale for 18 million euros...

Probably €18m more than we have?

I genuinely think we must have very minimal funds for whatever reason.

Would anyone take Covs striker?

Assuming you mean Wright and not the tragic Simms, he played well against Oxford. Involved in everything positive they did.  Not sure really.  He's actually got a decent if unspectacular scoring record wherever he's been, and that's with being deployed wide a lot of the time, like last night.  On the face of it you'd think the Prem might be a step too far though.

If you did mean Simms, then seek help.

He’s destined for bigger and better than us. He’s class.

Maybe this season the club should have considered reintroducing release clauses that would have given us a competitive advantage in negotiations for certain players. I know after Kante we moved away from them, but beggars can’t be choosers and given where we stand, we have to be realistic and this could offer us the best chance of securing some of our targets this season.

For example Hlozek if had signed him for £18m on a 5 year deal it would have been a PSR write down of £3.6m per season so at the end of this season his book value would be £14.4m. So if we agreed to a relegation release clause of £25-30m we would still make a decent PSR profit of £10-15m. This strategy might have to be the way forward for the next few seasons until we fully establish ourselves back in the top flight.

Is he though? I remember when his contract was soon to expire there was a lot of talk about clubs being able to pick him up and yet there wasn't really much interest. He extended and he's getting back to the same spot again. I think Lyon just wanted to protect his value rather than actually liking the player.  He generally looks like a player with all the tricks but without the implementation. Even that highlights video shows him beating a man and then nothing, multiple times.  Maybe it's something he can be coached on, but he's always sort of struck me as a player who can do it all but doesn't know when to do it.  Like a blunted Adel Taraabt.  Mind you, he is still a kid really.

He's a player who has shown promise but has a lot to prove if he's going to move onto bigger and better.

Doesn't make sense though does it as we are being told we bid £25m for Soule and £23m for Fotis.

I trust Percy as well not to fall for any club antics if it's all a ruse.
