But not worth the risk buying him for the championship.... ?

Money id guess and we wouldn’t sell to a rival?

But it’s not like he signed up to be a teacher. He just happens to get paid for something that is very popular and try’s to use that for good in the community.

Still going to be human at the end of it all and will make the same mistakes as everyone else, they just have it exacerbated because of the lime light.

I am 100% sure every footballer knows their responsibility to the community. I’m sure it’s in their contract aswell how certain levels of behavior is expected

It's almost like I didn't say that the punishment was fair in the context of the law in my other post...

For this comments, I was asked a question about what I think would be a fair punishment so I gave my answer to that.

Thanks for injecting by removing the context and ignoring what was said

Ok - i missed that - apologies. But at the end of the day, there is nothing to suggest he's been let off lightly.

I'm not some sort of Hamza apologist and would much rather we had other people play. In fact, i have a friend whos brother did some work for Leicester once and met Hamza and said he was outright horrible to him (and this guy is pretty thick skinned, so it must have been nasty).  I don't doubt he's a bit of a ****, but i've met many nasty people on my job and so don't let this bother me as much as others.

I personally think it should carried a prison sentence which is why i said he's probably been dealt with fairly in terms of how the current law works. Though I would imagine he was given the option of a £20k fine to avoid prison. Again, a privilege that a 'normal' person doesn't have.

He was part of COVID party (I incorrectly suggested that he had organised it which I don't think is the case) that helped derail that season. A time when the majority of us were still cooped up yet he was being allowed to play and train every day and have somewhat of a normal life

He has been charged and fined for multiple instances of dodgy posts on social media. Oh, and he's got in hot water for doing that again.

I don't think he's the worst human being alive. But there is clear evidence that he's pretty lacking in moral fibre and decision making. I'm not talking about 1 lapse in judgement, it's a pattern of behaviour. On the captaincy, I guess you and I are very different people then. Actually find it staggering that you think it's ok for him to be made captain days after he broke the law in an act that is supremely selfish and puts others people's lives at risk. The impact of a football captain on the pitch is pretty minimal so it's more of a ceremonial position, and therefore the off the pitch behaviour is massively important. Sent completely the wrong message.

This literally isn't a thing in the UK.

He was sentenced within the guidelines, and given the circumstances of this offence (even with his previous as an aggravating factor) he was never going to face a prison sentence for it - just as a 'normal' person wouldn't either.

£20k ish you?

To be fair ... looking at some of the others £20k is about right ..... but if it was left to me they would all be on £20k and a decent win bonus / league position basis, a .... you want it you earn it structure

As squad enforcer he’s got something to offer. Can cover multiple positions. He’s certainly no worse than Skipp in midfield based on what we’ve witnessed, no worse than Justin at RB and in that role he can play inverted which Justin is unable. Useful sub option.

Hamza cannot play RB on a consistent basis and will find even some Championship wingers much harder than he should.

He has zero awareness and the amount of crosses that he casually allows is criminal.

However, I agree about not being able to use his off the field antics as a reason to call him out, his performances (in the main) do that on their own.

Why do you as assume this? It's quite clear that we are unable to shift the dross we have in our squad (many more than just these two) due to the overpaid contracts we have given to so many crap players.

Bouba is into his last year and his salary will now be a reduced 50k. There is no financial benefit for him in not leaving (there was before )

we will be trying to move wilf on because he has value in his fee. The issue will be that his PL salary will be 80k and any club he goes to will want us to reduce the fee by the remaining contractual difference between what they are prepared to pay him and that amount.  Wilf will be on approx 50k here if he stays for the championship.  If he moves abroad then he can expect a similar salary.  I just think he will decide that it’s time to move on.

I presume your salary figures/calculations are somewhere near correct but I expect that they (and other similar dross) will remain with us stinking the place out.

If we adopted that pay structure we would never attract any players. As much as I agree with you, it’s not how the market dictates.

imagine if your boss said we’ll pay you £20k a year with 10k add ons depending if you achieve your objectives, and the companies objectives.

you would get a market rate salary with a bonus structure over and above normally.

Or alternatively we could pay 50k - 70k and up to 100k in some cases for such quality as Faes, Skipp, Winks, Soumare, Vestaguard.... the list goes on ... to be on such high wages you would normally be expected to produce something / objectives .... in our case that doesn't seem to apply ... in view of add ons / bonuses... they would have to be attractive enough to the player for him to join the club

Scores a screamer but then gives away a pen and plays a massive part (or rather doesn't) in their 2nd goal.

You could say typical, but it really isn't given he usually does these things without the scoring bit.
