Do we? Cause as far as I can tell to qualify as a squad player you need to possess at least some form of quality.

He doesn't have any whatsoever. Saying he's a squad player would imply he's capable of delivering 6/10 performances when called upon. He can't even do that, so stop your sanctimonious spiel about how we need more players like him.

He's the very epitome of what's wrong with this squad and, in a bigger sense, this club.

Well said. Club should have looked for the exit door after his third off the field incident. Some of the errors last season should have been the indicator that it was time to scrap him

Today was his 89th appearance for us and he had 36 for Watford, who didn’t want to sign him .I can seriously only remember in all them games only a handful at best where he’s had a decent game . And they were in the Championship

Perfect demonstration of how fickle supporters are. Just need to scroll back a few pages and there we all were saying how he is exactly what the squad needed during a period where things weren't going well. He's put in countless performances for us where he has either got us out of trouble (we may still be in the champ had it not been for his goal line clearances) or simply put on a good showing. Not sure how anyone can expect a player to come in from the cold away at the Toon and seamlessly slot in to a team who are already in a relegation fight.

Remember on here when he got that contract extension how it was apparently 4D chess to get more money out of Watford. Turns out we've just spunked a load more money on an inadequate player for a load more years. Again.

Life under Top & Rudkin.

I never said we need more players like Choudhury I just merely pointed out that versatile squad players are a necessity.

I can't see how academy players becoming first team players is a problem. I can only see the benefits not just in terms of money saving/making but in keeping future academy players at the club. If there is a route to having a chance in the first team they will stay. If that route is closed they will move on for next to nothing at 18.

Choudhury has cost the club very little. He is versatile and like it or not he is one of our own.

He was pushed out against a strong Newcastle midfield and it didn't work out yesterday. It was always going to be makeshift. However, as I said I'm glad it was him and not a young lad who'd never been in the first team squad before.

Yes probably needed him in the championship, but that was his absolutely max level! If he is so good at that level why didn’t Watford buy him? He  is an average championship player that is it, I think he certainly wasn’t the reason we got promoted and we still would have got promoted without him!! Bloke a bit of a nob head to

Of course he wasn't the reason we gained promotion, no one on their right mind would suggest anything of the sort. However he played his part throughout. In particular, you might want to cast your mind back to last April and his second half performance against West Brom at home which basically denied the better team on the day all three points.

Equally I remember him being utter toilet v Bristol City and Middlesbrough

I have just done this, and you have to go back 5 pages to get to any positive comments, and that was when we were in the Championship. He wasn't a regular pick at the level below.

I do agree that he can't go straight in to an away game at Newcastle and hold his own; but that's the whole point isn't it? He's nowhere near good enough to do a job in the Premier League.

1So he's a convicted drink driver, he's had to be warned about being Antisemitism by the club, previously charged by the FA for historical tweets,  and had to be dropped for breach covid 19 rules.

But his a great bloke to have a round the dressing room. :appl:

He comes across like he thinks he's the bees knees both at and away from the club. Hardly a leader, unlike Andy King.

Perhaps he's only at the club for academy rules purposes on match days.

I'd be a better lad to have around and I'll do it for a 10th of what hes rinsing us for.

No drink driving or Palestine flag waving from me👍🏾👍🏾

Just to clarify, the message was tongue in cheek. The guy is woeful and would struggle to hold down a place in a championship team.

Drink driving, covid parties should have been an easy way to get off of the wage bill. Instead rudders offers him contract extensions…shambles

I’m assuming the plan was to sell him.

Unfortunately without a driving licence, unless he employs a driver, he’s stuck with us for the foreseeable.

Waste of space. Need to drain the swamp!

“He’s one of our own” is not an acceptable reason to keep sub-standard footballers around if we want to progress as a football club.

Let’s face it, anything half-decent our academy has produced have been snapped up by bigger clubs and here we are approaching 2025, still relying on the likes of Hamza, Thomas et al, who any aspirational club would’ve moved on seasons ago.

He's just the equivalent of Conrad Logan. But outfield. Just sat comfortably doing feck all and being paid handsomely for it. Good gig if you can get it!!

He's never been any more than a lower - mid table Champ player. It's shocking he's still around and on silly Dosh.

Hope he's not one of the highest-earners.
