He was expected to be in their squad tonight as they have some suspensions in midfield

Seems like an initial loan rather than a permanent with an obligation if we get promoted. Think overall that’s a better deal

We would basically sign him permanently the instant our promotion is secured

 

Just a way for us to push back the fee to later in the year and it would help to protect both Sensi and us

 

If we don't go up Sensi doesn't have to stay with us in the Championship and we don't get stuck with his wages in the Championship

 

Inter probably aren't that bothered by the fee anyway and just want his wages gone so would suit them as well

Although as @coolhandfox has said, there's very little difference in the accounts in paying a 500k loan fee or paying 666k across 3 years. It must be the longer term view we are protecting ourselves against.

I'm guessing this is why we are paying more then earlier rumours on the fee suggested. Inter are happy to gamble with the higher fee as we are top of the championship. Very little risk to us or Sensi

Especially as 2 or 2.5, in the grand scheme of things, is peanuts...

This is probably true and logically it doesn't exactly scream it's a positive move for us

Don't think it is, its 500k in this years accounts or 666k in this years accounts depending on opting for a loan with an obligation to buy, over a straight up purchase.
