ForeverandEver Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Need to keep some of the first team wrapped in blankets at home… some look really shattered to be honest - won’t harm them from having a 10+ days rest.
jayfox26 Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Annoying as I was quite excited about a potential cup run but with our squad looking thin and us dropping 5 points out of the last 6, this game has become a bit of an inconvenience. Always want us to win but keeping our key players fresh for Swansea has got to be the focus.
Popular Post bovril Posted 22 January 2024 Popular Post Posted 22 January 2024 League cup is one thing, but I can never get fans not caring if we get knocked out of the FA Cup. We're perfectly capable of going up and going on a cup run. Stop being small time 11 2
TrentFox Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Total reserves for this. Delicate first-team-flowers need all the protection they can get. 1

Are you saying we just don't bother entering the two cup's? Some of my best memories of being a Leicester fan are wining the League Cup and FA Cup. I'm not writing off an FA Cup run just because we're seven points clear at the top. 3

IF we progress we'll come up against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool at some point and get well and truly stuffed...extra games with our paper thin squad is the last thing we need during the final run in of league games. Why risk the goal of promotion? 1

Pita Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Birmingham are on the up. Got a decent manager and he has got them playing together as a team. We hit a bit of a slump. 1
Finn Claw II Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Try and score more than 1 goal? That’s be my advice to the team 1 1

filbertway Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Could do with a win here.Fortunate to come out of the Millwall game with a win. Outplayed by Cov. Now thrown away what looked like would be a good 3 points with a poor 20 minutes. Following that up with a poor performance against these would be concerning.
Popular Post Twitcher Posted 22 January 2024 Popular Post Posted 22 January 2024 Strange mentality by some. I thought we had aspirations of being a Premier League side. We either are a Premier League side in waiting, and should therefore be targeting this competition, (as we would next season if we go up), or we're a second tier side, with absolutely no hope of winning it, as some have said. I don't see how we can think we're good enough to go up, but consider this competition beyond us. 6
Guest Lcfc82 Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Winks, Ricardo and KDH need leaving out of the squad for this one. Need to be rested up for Swansea.

We've played the same amount of games as everyone else, and had the luxury of rotating more than most teams in the division. We've also controlled possession in so many games, so have done a lot less chasing. Absolutely no reason why we should look shattered. 3

Guest glasgowfox Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Tbh don't give a fek...play the kids and concentrate on the league
Jobyfox Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 I usually get very annoyed with people who state that we shouldn’t bother with cup competitions, but I kind of see their point this season. We just can’t afford significant injuries with a light squad and the league is everything this year. I do, however, still want us to win the game as I always do. I just want us to do it with a squad full of the back up players. It’s ideal for them to keep march fit and ready for when they’re needed. A workout for Stolarczyk, Coady, Doyle, Akgun, Albrighton and Vardy here would be ideal. Maybe even Praet if he can be arsed. Hopefully do just enough to get through and then get another winnable draw at home so we can go again with the same strategy
cropstonfox Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 Would take a cup final win over promotion. Save that till next year! 1 1 1

Agree with everything you say here, but perhaps it’s more about momentum, constantly being good can be tiring & it’s a long old season; we perhaps haven’t shuffled the pack as much as others.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 January 2024 Posted 22 January 2024 We have a problem here. Ideally, you’d want to give KDH the week off. Possibly Winks too. But our midfield without those two looks very, very weak. I’d also say throwing this game, making it no win in 3, then heaps pressure on the Swansea game. 1

From a fan perspective I'd take the cup instead. That goes in the history books forever. Be interesting to know how you'd feel if we'd never won it. It might be an age thing. I'm nearly 60. The FA Cup matters. For some of our younger fan base, the Prem. seems to be the only goal. We'll go up and at some point, we'll come down. As a club we always have done. We need to be realistic about our chances if/when we go up. Do we have the money we'll need in the Premier League? I watched Bournemouth get stuffed 4-0 yesterday. I think Bournemouth are currently better than us. I'd take an FA Cup all day long. 2 1
