If we could remove most his defensive duties, then he might be an acceptable player for us at this level.

I just can't stand how he causally jogs back and then just stands in open space and doesn't have any clue about where the opposition is.

Better performance.

It was him that broke their press with a great "third man run" and then drove forward with the ball to create the 1on1 opportunity for Fatawu which got us the winning goal.

Just wish he had one instruction; to let that ball roll across him and advance 20+ yards. That's it. Just do that!

Even in attack when he can't help but slow down and almost kill it. So many times all he would have to do is stick his foot out or cut the line of play but he waits till the moment has gone by then half attempts something.

He will never get better or sharper, otherwise he would have by now.

I really do not like Soumare in my team, but thought today he was decent. He won the ball 2-3 times in the first few minutes and I was shocked.

he was solid enough today, had a couple of dribbles one of which lead to the goal, he needs to do that more as he's really good at it

Done well today I think with Bilal next to him instead of Skipp if we keep him then it could work

They would get walked through. Neither can do defensive duties

I feel he just slows the game down so much, a few times he drove forward with the ball but just hesitated and slowed down, needs to drive it forward

Slows the game down but we scored from one of his driving runs

That's like giving Xavi the credit for his assist when Messi scored his famous goal against Getafe

It was a goal because of Fatawu's individual brilliance, not because of a driving run from Soumare

The fact you’re choosing to compare stats to Skipp is a bit of an admission straight away. Has anyone ever come up with a redeeming quality of that player?

Well we don't need both of them in there was more the point

Thought he was good today. I'm not going to get too excited though as that level of performance has been so few and far between. If he can play like that regularly then fair play to him.

For a bloke that was purchased for the Prem has played in Ligue one winning team, played in the top flight in Spain.
He really needs to do better against a league one club promoted through the playoffs that haven’t had a pot to piss in for 10 years.

An improvement, but he should be levels above.

This sums it up for me. The jogging back with a complete lack of situational awareness is beyond infuriating every week and the odd driving run isn't enough to balance the defensive harm he does. Having said that I do think he was trying his best today and he even won the ball back a couple of times so fair one today.
