Unfortunately Wymsey that is in the eye of the beholder. There's people on here that would act like Neil Warnock is a pleasant surprise.

I fancied Ruud last summer. He did a good job at PSV, plays attacking 4-3-3, could be that nice option that isn't too different to Enzo, but has more defensive tendencies whilst allowing players to take the handbrake off going forward. Far less controlled but still a possession based coach.

Obviously take this with a pinch of salt, but heard that the owner and prospective new manager met in London yesterday and has unofficially agreed to join.

 

He was the club's first choice, but apparently he changed his mind after initially declining the opportunity a couple of weeks ago.

 

Source: A former box holder of over 20 years who used to have dealings with the club.

Not sure why people seem hyped about RVN.

 

He managed to finish 2nd with PSV, they have occupied 1st or 2nd in the league in 8 of the last 10 seasons.

 

He got knocked out in the CL Play-offs and EL play offs.

 

He achieved about par as a manager of PSV.

My interests in him are the players he has developed and helped bring through from their academy. 

 

As you say his season at PSV was about par for the course, did win a cup though too.
