You're essentially playing the current back ups back up though.

True, but in friendlies so far we are playing the back up (ward) to the back up's (Stolarcyk) back up (Iversen)

Below that level, you are talking willy Cabellero or Stowell playing....and  many people (me included) would choose them two above Ward.

I think I read somewhere that they returned early this week, although none of them were at Shrewsbury

There's an old hermit who lives in a cave somewhere in Swithland Woods. Apparently he'll tell you if you give him some brightly-coloured beads. Heading over now...

Hermansen posted on his Twitter that he was ‘back in with the boys’ earlier this week.

Thanks. Hopefully he’ll start tomorrow.

I wouldn’t read too much into who’s playing in the pre season games. Often they’re a shop window. We’ve potentially had people looking at Ward.

Hermansen's ability with his feet will still be an asset under a manager who's focus isn't as much on playing out from the back. The fact he's so good at passing means we'll benefit from him as opposed to a keeper that just clears the ball poorly.

We'll be looking to play out faster which if anything will require Hermansen's skills in doing so accurately.

I think we underutilised he long-passing, his ability to ping a pass could be lethal for spring counter attacks

Not sure Enzo let us use his assistant manager to play in a friendly. Also not sure Maccabi Tel Aviv would be happy with us using their goalkeeper coach. We could maybe use Danny Alcock who is our current keeper coach but not sure if he's actually any good as he spent most of his career in non league.

With Man City supposedly not signing a Ederson replacement I can see them signing Hermansen for around £35-£40m next summer after he’s shown he can do the business in the premier league.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could expedite this and do some counter-attacking in the autumn, too? 🤞

Not claiming to be an ITK, but have friends that coach at Cobham and they're saying there's no chance that Chelsea will bid for him this Summer. They also said the chances of Chelsea bidding for him next Summer is very unlikely too - Maresca obviously likes him but the data analysts have other preferences and they tend to sway Boehly and pals. As such, they believe that the only reason Chelsea would need a new keeper next year is if this year goes badly - if that did happen Maresca would likely go anyway and so Mads would be even less likely to go there.

Haven’t they just agreed a fee with the Villarreal goalkeeper?

🚨 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄: Chelsea are now set to sign their new goalkeeper, Filip Jørgensen! 🔵🇩🇰
Deal at final stages with Villarreal after Chelsea have improved their proposal worth €20m with add-ons.
Chelsea and Villarreal are discussing deal structure… then the agreement will be completed, it’s imminent.
Filip Jørgensen has already agreed terms, he wants Chelsea… it’s matter of time to get everything done.

People look at him, find out he's on 50k a week then stop looking. With clubs looking at Iversen and Stolarcyk injured, Ward will be the Mads backup until Octoberish at least ☹️

Will be interesting to see if this now propels him ahead of Hermansen in the Denmark national team. Mads has had to play 3rd fiddle already.
