Foxestrust match report will be good. Probably blame the rain. Most of us have seen enough football to spot a lame duck and thats what we've got. Comfortably the worst manager in the division by some margin. He's a beat your chest play for the badge manager like frank lampard. Top level football is beyond that outside of the last few games in a relegation fight.

**** sake, I thought he’d do ok, have players on the front foot at home at least. Shown himself up to be completely clueless and out of his depth. Given he said he’s spent his time away from a job learning, would love to know where the **** he’s been. Failure school seemingly

Tried so hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's lost me today.

Fundamentally unintelligent decisions from day one and today's pathetic performance and poor in game management at home against comfortably the worst team in the league was risible.

I like a proactive manager, but this guy's not even reactive... just a deer in the headlights.

Glad Mavididi is making him look a mug by consistently showing he's our best player after forcing his way back into the team he never should have been out of.

Pereira's turn next.

The job of a manager is to choose the tactics to be used against the opposition, pick the starting XI and subs who can deliver those tactics, motivate the squad and react to the opposition's performance and tactics on the day.

I've watched five PL matches now and have had concerns with all those requirements.  Hindsight is easy but the deterioration from last season is alarming.  IMO we've been the weaker team in each of those matches and could easily have fewer than the accumulated three points that just keep us out of the relegation places.

To me the Everton game was a watershed.  We were up against the team bottom of the PL with zero points, a horrendous injury list and players playing out of position.  If we can't beat such a team we probably can't beat an other PL team and the sad fact is that in the first half we looked bereft of direction and motivation.  The second half was better but we still looked well below the quality I'd expect to see in a PL team.  I'm not saying that this can't be turned round but without better team selection and tactics I don't think it will be.  At least the players put in a shift second half but sweat alone won't save us.  I fear for the rest of the season.
