2 reasons he won’t end up at Roma:

1) They can’t pay the transfer fee or the wages we can.

2) The Premier League is the most competitive and most watched league in the world, he either thrives with us and goes to a big boy or he doesn’t and ends up in Serie A anyway.

Plus I doubt Juve would want to see to Roma in an ideal world

This guy looks great, but I’d rather we spend the money on an actual number fvcking ten!

(Assuming we won’t be spending too many £25m to £35millions in one go, in this window!!)

Also would Juve rather sell a player to Leicester or to Roma in the same league as them ?

I’m excited by the prospect of signing the lad based off his YouTube compilations alone as everything about him screams he should be playing through the middle… that being said we’ve not got the best track record when it comes to picking up square pegs for round holes

Nice to get him, not overly arsed if we don't.

In this thread people have mentioned "missing out" on Trincao, Gonzalez, Madueke amongst others.

And aside from us missing out, there's something else they all have in common.

They've done fxxk all since we missed out.  Certainly nothing that makes the reported fees at the time look in any way justified. Trincao being the worst.  Looked good in Portugal, crap in Spain, crap in England and oh look, he looks decent in Portugal again.  Madueke doing so well they tried to replace him with Olise almost immediately after his arrival.  Gonzalez has decent stats again but he likes an injury layoff.  It could all have been different had they signed for us but as it stands they're generally looking like bullets dodged for the fees bandied about at the time. All similar to this supposed fee.

It would be nice to steal in ahead of a club like Roma though too.

I get the feeling that we'll spend big this season to see us through the financial period with 1 or 2 improvements over the next 2 years.

He's got very high potential but surely 30mil for a player with 6 non penalty goals and 3 assists last season is a bit steep.

In fairness he was out on loan at one of the smallest clubs in the league that went down fairly pitifully with 8 wins all year.

He was generally their stand out player and he created a lot of very good chances that were largely wasted by Frosinone's poor array of forwards.

Yh that's a strong point, if he matched his expected assists he would have gotten 7 assists. £30 mil is a lot of money for one player though, I hope he turns out to be worth it rather than our scouting team getting worked up into a frenzy like they did with Trincao as mentioned above.

Almost there.

32 M Euros is currently 26.89 pounds, as the pound has recently risen in value.

Wonder if this is our equivalent to say when Cooper signed Gibbs-White at Forest.

What about guys like Fofana, Maguire and Maddison? How did they work out?
