Todays Results - Wednesday 2nd October

Championship:

Harry Souttar (7.3 + clean sheet + yellow card - 90 mins) - Sheff Utd 1-0 Swansea City

Tom Cannon (10.0 + 4 goals + MOTM - 90 mins) - Stoke City 6-1 Portsmouth

Have we ever had a player out on loan with a 10 rating before?

He needed this loan, he's a bit raw still so he wouldn't develop sat on our bench watching Edouard get 11 minutes.

My Blades supporting colleague drops me a message seemingly every time they bloody play telling me how much he loves Souttar

We've been starved of being able to offer that love, breaks my heart. Got all the ingredients to be a club icon, even down to that little mullet and yet we've these absolute farmers we employ who ignore him.

I’d rather us keep Cannon than sign 33 year old Ayew.

so you wanted Tom Cannon playing on the wing then?

Beggars belief how Souttar wasn’t given more of a chance here. He was brilliant for Australia at the World Cup, which we then signed him after. Game saving tackle against Tunisia will always stand out.

He has all the qualities as pre-United Harry Maguire. He’s great from set pieces, got great recovery pace, and he’s absolutely massive. Not as good as Vesty on the ball but he’s more than passable.

Socceroos Souttar is brilliant and I’m glad he’s getting consistent minutes to show what we can do.

it is a bit weird but he was dropped by the manager that signed him and the next 2 haven't fancied him either

Did Rodgers drop him? He was MOTM away at Brentford the game before Rodgers last game. Smith wasn't keen.

Smith picked him for the draw away at Newcastle and he was superb that night

I thought it was Rodgers that dropped him as I seem to remember wondering why he'd gone back to Amartey and Faes after buying him, the situation is just odd and sums up our transfer mess over recent years

It was Sadler and Stowell that dropped him. He started every PL game he was available for when Rodgers was in charge.
