So what does Ayew do?

 

Answer: presses.

 

Very interesting to see FBRef offer similar players as BDCR and Buonanotte. Almost like Cooper is solely looking for high pressing 10s/wide men.

 

Would have to imagine he will want the same for a CF.

 

In a way, does give me confidence the 2nd half vs Spurs was a tactical decision to press high and not just blind luck

I think it's fair to say that £3m on a 30 yo CB is quite different to £8m on a 33 yo winger.

It's pretty obvious already this is what he wants, he was supposedly like this at Swansea, and I think he's had more of a hand in the Forest chaos than what was made out.

 

But beyond his personal preference it's the fact we just cave into those demands. We appoint managers who are very different from each other, let them dictate our transfer policy and end up with this never ending mish mash of players.

 

Rudkin is truly, truly terrible. He's dictated to by managers and agents and seems to come out of 90% of deals we make on the slight wrong side of value. We end up pissing around for weeks, months failing to get players in and then panic on things like this. We're the only club outside of Saudi Arabia who'd pay that for Skipp and Ayew. We also hardly ever sell anybody. Rudkin's ineptness is a massive bottleneck for us. It's so obvious to the point I just can't be bothered even debating it anymore, people believe what they want to believe.

 

But we're stuck with this so what hope have we got? There's no serious pressure on them to force change either. This place and Twitter are echo chambers.

Clearly he's not the fans choice, but we are clearly struggling to get our targets over the line with what we're offering. But the more I read the more I'm thinking actually yeah I think he'll do a job here. Hard working, pressing. Cottee was 32.

Makes us not being in for Szmodics even more crazier and people are happy with this but didn’t want SS lol

There's no way we sign another 2 attackers, I'll be surprised if we get another 1 in.

 

5m + 3m in add ons isn't great business, although I think he'll be a decent player for us. I'm dreading seeing a 3 year contract then finding out it's 40k+.

Cottee had a scoring record that Ayew can only dream of having. 

 

Ayew's stats look more like those of a CDM - nothing progressive but good at tackling and interceptions!

I'd guess that's come from cooper that they'll try and sign 2 more players. It'll be one max.
