inckley fox Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 I've defended him often enough, but today the manager had a nightmare. I should add that the fans calling for Ricardo and Fatawu and JJ on the left also need to ask themselves a question or two. I'm sure his big selection decisions weren't in any way concessions to the fans, but either way, they backfired spectacularly. Fatawu, for one, put in as bad a PL performance as I've ever seen.

If we'd lost that 3-1 but created a fair few chances and played ok 2nd half then yeah the blame lies fully with the players. That 2nd half performance was an abomination and that is on both Cooper and the players. Agree but hard to take after starting with our best 11...bit sad 😂
Paul_lcfc_1988 Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 We will get what we want in the end this clown gone, problem is it be too late when we do get shut of him!
Collymore Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 (edited) Think he tried to appease the fans tonight with that lineup without much thought of a game plan. If only football was that simple. Edited 25 October 2024 by Collymore 2
Gav_LCFC14 Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 Was at the game. If he can't motivate and get players running through walls against those scum. Then what is he good for?
Muzzy_no7 Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 Anyone still defending this utter Plonker I formally invite you to a Pint and serious discussion at The Dovecote Narborough Sunday afternoon at 14:00 1

HitchinFox Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 I'm now solidly on the Cooper out bandwagon. Very, very bad tonight. Forest are a decent team. But hardly world-beaters. Need to at least put up a fight against teams like that. 3
kingfox Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 A manager who can organise a defence would be nice.
JimJams Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 I get the complaints about 1 shot on target, but I think people are forgetting or haven't noticed how good Forests defence has been this season. It's the second best on paper so far, and that's after our game in which they've conceded. They've conceded less than the much hyped Arsenal backline and played a game more. They're not easy pickings. 2
JonnyBoy Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 To think they didn’t even have their best player on the pitch

grth2004 Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 This was the Cooper Out fantasy team I think he was trying to keep this lot happy and it doesn’t work , let’s have more faith in the future. 1

Whilst the squad is limited, especially defensively, I do think we are good enough to stay up. I'm just not sure if Cooper is the man to oversee it. I don't have anything against him personally, he seems a nice bloke, but he just seem tactically limited which doesn't bode well for a someone in charge of a team that will be in a relegation battle.
BillyFOX12 Posted 25 October 2024 Posted 25 October 2024 Forest fans were chanting his name, they clearly love this bloke. Forest bastards the lot of them. 1

Ricardo was very rusty, but Fatawu has needed to start all season, both Kristiansen and Justin have been getting defensively smoked all season. I don’t see how switching JJ to the left was a bad choice. Even if we had Kristiansen and JJ as our 2 fullbacks, they still would have got destroyed today as they have been all season. The starting 11 was the strongest we have played this season, but this was a massive off day for everyone.

It’s not an issue with the 11 that started, it’s the lack of like for like signings in the summer to bring on that gave us no options tonight.

How do you look at that and go "yeah that was class, more of that please, we'll keep scoring 2 or 3 goals in the last 20-30 minutes of games" It's crazy logic 1

I think it's become obvious that most of our defenders are nowhere near good enough for the EPL regardless of who's in charge, TBH. I think that all we've done is shown up the gap between the Championship and EPL, again...
