As I am sure you well know,  the only part of the criminal justice system the major has any control over is police and even there he shares responsibility with the Home Secretary,  so struggling to see how you can say he his responsible for overseeing the increase in  crime,  which of course we have seen across the country.

Luckily the residents of London are well aware that it's the national government who are responsible for crime and policing, which is probably why Khan has been elected three times.

The one issue where he's seen as responsible - ULEZ and the congestion charges - are where he gets criticism from people living on the outer parts of London (or driving in), but those in much of London are in favour of a cleaner environment (particularly for their kids). Of course it helps if you have a good public transport system so no need to drive a polluting car.

Am not sure what to make of her and Harry, to be honest.

Am not sure if they're genuine in general, or only thinking about themselves.

I think that they they think no they're genuine, but both have had upbringings that have twisted their perspectives so that they have no idea what a normal, everyday existence is for your average person.

They seem generally benevolent, but there's this needy aura of adoration that masks it. A kind of, "oh, I couldn't possibly... but if you insist!" When no one's insisting.

FBI now reckon it was lone Wolf attack.  Which was always the most likely scenario. just a bit odd why they originally seemed so keen to worry people that there was some kind of cell still on the loose.

Suspected people smugglers will face travel bans, social media blackouts and phone restrictions under new laws, the government has announced.

& if that don’t work they still got the naughty step & being sent to bed without any dinner up their sleeve 😂

... I'm a little curious about what should be done given that the key word in that first sentence is "suspected", and the last time I checked the UK was a civilised nation of laws where the state punishment tends to follow a conviction in a court of law?

The latest tactic by the think tanks behind Trump, Musk, Farage is utter gutter stuff.

Bringing up old cases of child abuse (and Robinson’s solitary confinement). Horrific

When your objective is power at any cost, then the ends justify any means.

Nothing such folks would do would come as a surprise to me.

She's an American gold-digger and he's an easy target.

Their lives make no difference to society despite what they think.

They are meaningless, minor celebrities. She thinks she some kind of influential "Royal princess". He is a gullible fool. Like his Uncle Andrew.

Can you stop burner phones & by virtue of them being people smugglers I’m not sure taking away a passport (if they have 1) will stop them using ‘their own’ routes in/out of the country.

It’s a bit of a nothing deterrent & statement

I don't disagree, but I was curious to know what would be more effective.

Plenty of people on remand that are waiting conviction, so I'm sure it's legal.

In practice it won't make a jot of difference.

Beyond media soundbites and things that don't involve massively hypocritical restrictions of civil liberties, that is.

.... and those that are not?

Pardon for pressing the point, but there seems to be many issues right now where it's a vogue to talk about the problems and ineffective solutions (as accurate as it may be) rather than actual workable answers.

Edit: don't get me wrong, I understand the argument made, it's just not so simply solved.

Talk is cheap. Say the things people want to hear and mostly, they'll bury their heads in the skanky press and fail to understand what's really happening.
