Samilktray Posted 17 October 2024 Posted 17 October 2024 There’s pictures floating round of what is supposedly Liam Paynes hotel room and he was on some serious gear if they’re real. He probably had no idea what dimension he was in let alone anything else. Very sad stuff

Every aspect of their day to day life is controlled. If they don't follow this way of life like fatso Kalvin Phillips they are no longer sports stars. Entertainment people are artists and creatives that should not be controlled if they are to reach the top. Nothing to do with settling down or home life, you have to have immense discipline to stay at the top in sport. A 'disciplined' artist who settled down doesn't sound like someone who can sell records. A lot of people are in bubbles too. While top class athletes aren’t going to be using hardcore illicit drugs, they’re using sleeping pills, prescribed benzo’s and a lot drink a lot. Pop stars and models are examples as well. It’s just a completely different life with completely different opportunities good or bad than any of us can comprehend. The one thing that connects them all though is that they’re exploited and pressured by toxic agents/managers/PR. Some just can’t cope. 1

I was trying to point out that these people have rules to follow which are target driven. How that is then interpreted by front facing staff and the way they deal with it, is what often comes across as a lack of compassion and a featureless response from those that are being browbeaten by their supervisors. The assessors are the least paid and the least trained within this system. I don't blame them for being a bit offhand but I have had personal experience of sitting in an PIP assessment with my daughter who was already in receipt of it. The attitude of the assessor was awful. As if anyone claiming an entitlement to a benefit was some kind of lying scumbag. And THAT is what claimants experience. Being brushed off, treated a some sort of sub-class. She was turned down on assessment but accepted on appeal where the chairman said he was astounded that her claim had been rejected which goes back to my point that the process is target driven and the front facing staff aren't allowed to be compassionate which in turn makes them "appear" heartless and lacking in compassion. I honestly believe many are, though. Granted, it's just my experience in this example but I have spoken to people I have been sent out to when I was working that tell of similar experiences and have described similar to my paraphrased example. The barriers to claiming what someone is justified in claiming is one way of putting people off, particularly those that struggle with completing paperwork or accessing the internet. In other words, those that are elderly or already challenged intellectually, physically and mentally It's an abomination, a fact, not a "fallacious belief" Edited 17 October 2024 by Parafox

Suspect the more proverbial "heads on spikes" they can bring back from Gaza/Lebanon, the more emboldened they'll be to continue.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 17 October 2024 Posted 17 October 2024 People are saying that One Direction were the Beatles of the 10s, but I prefer to think of the Beatles as the One Direction of the 60s. 2

Generalisation point I know. Am not keen on certain 'peer pressure' on this matter. Some people around my age are/are getting married, but personally can't be bothered with the whole marriage thing - to be honest. Don't really need a fancy ring put on in front of an audience to show your partner that you love them.

I have got more on the rails the older I have got, and none of it was anything to do with settling down or family - in fact, it was down to repairing the remnants left by the awful family unit I was subjected to as a child.
