How did O’Neill do enough to get that job based on Wolves appointments beforehand being generally high profile?

Certainly a strange one. We’ve got to beat them.

Julen Lopetegui left them in the lurch not long before the beginning of last season, they had issues with PSR and O'Neill was available having stayed up with Bournemouth. Up until their FA cup game against Cov last season he was doing a very good job at Wolves and was very popular with their supporters.

To be fair, no club has been cursed by refs quite like Wolves the last couple of seasons. Yesterday summed it up: a goal from a corner that wasn’t even a corner and a blatant penalty ignored while VAR went for a tea break.

And a foul for the winner .

Potentially 2 penalties really .

Genuinely think it’s only between us and Wolves for that 18th spot.

I think Everton will be in the mix but worry Wolves with Mourinho would get them out of trouble.

i think we’re still bottom 3 standard

Not a chance he leaves Fenerbahce for them.

Gonna get their new manager bounce against us then

I'm hoping they do sack him before they play us. I think the players are still giving everything for him and it's likely to go the other way with no new manager bounce if they get rid.

Wolves fixtures after Ipswich and us are horrendous (for them)

Everyone plays all other teams twice during the season.

I realise that you already know that.

Yeah obviously.

But a run of games against top opposition in consecutive games, when confidence and morale is already low, could be quite disastrous for them...

Yeah agree but I'm sure I read or heard a few days ago that Wolves had already had a very difficult run of fixtures (not bothered to check).

Maybe they just make every other team look exceptional. lol

I actually think we are a bit better than that. Ok i know we aren't 1970 brazil or even 2015 city but we aren't getting dicked every time out (brentford aside) and are picking up points against half decent sides like Brighton and bournemouth and have beaten sides down the bottom in Southampton and west ham.  I think we have more about us than Ipswich, Southampton, everton and Wolves and we were hampered by coopers negativity in most of the first 12 games.  Im optimistic of a mid table finish.  Not setting the world alight but i can see us getting better as the season progresses under ruud

Did a really good job at Bournemouth tbf and he fulfilled his remit of just keeping them up. Think they’ve cut their cloth too much though, does look like it’s got a bit toxic and they need to change but who is the question

You'll beat us easily. We've currently got the mentality of a frightened shrew when it comes to standing up in games. The amount of times we concede early or just after scoring ourselves is very troubling.

You'd think they'd wanna give a new manager the Ipswich and Leicester fixtures as a nice start

They apparently did, but then realised that no-one wanted to work under our owners or  CEO Jeff Shi (who most Wolves fans despise now). They keep turning the taps on and off and have no clear plans whatsoever. And as mentioned they're not adding any money now, or even spending the money from player sales it seems.

We're just a fundamentally badly run club right now.

I thought he was the cheap option for Wolves at the time. I thought they'd go down but he actually did a decent job in the end.

Ouch, that's a tough run. They might get something out of their National Lottery game AKA Spurs, but can't see much beyond 2-5 points maximum

A max 42 points with 13 to go would be very damning, an entirely reasonable as you look at that. It’s all very LCFC two seasons ago

Rashford to go from Man U?

Free up funds for new players more suited to Amorim way of playing and tactics .

They might be open to selling him, but nobody is going to be in the market for him.  He's on a ridiculous wage until 2028, they've saddled themselves with him unless they pay off a huge chunk of his contract which kind of defeats the purpose of selling him.
