Committed the offence elsewhere

On 20 May 2015, Simpson was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend and mother of his child, Stephanie Ward, on 28 December 2014.[46][47] He was sentenced to 300 hours of community service.[48]On 12 May 2016, his sentence was reviewed in light of press intrusion into his community service, and replaced with a 22:00 to 06:00 curfew for 21 days.[49]

He went off injured yesterday, I've seen news (maybe rumours) today that he will miss the final.

I thought Howe said he was just tired? Could be playing mind games I guess

Currently watching Forest in the FA cup, it’s staggering the difference in watching our players V theirs.

they fight for every challenge, never stop running and look dangerous whenever they have it.

regardless of quality the fight in the players and the hunger is their for them when we just role over each time.

it’s disheartening knowing that once was us 😔

The FA have until the end of today to notify us of any possible extra games ban. Note the last line. They'll still likely push for an extra game ban and a misconduct charge IMO.

Will be interesting to see this case with The FA pushing for a lifetime ban

Lucas Paqueta's betting charge hearing is due to take place this month and will last three weeks, Sky Sports News understands.

The Brazilian was charged with breaching betting rules in May of last year. It is understood that he will face a three-week hearing this month, which is set to be one of the longest court proceedings in the FA's history.

English football's governing body is seeking a lifetime ban for the midfielder.

Probably take forever to be verdict and then appeal .

I know that players betting restrictions is about the integrity of the game, but there is a certain irony how big of an issue they are making of this, set against the backdrop of betting adverts plastered over kits, stadiums and our TV screens.

There are so many ramifications though. What if a player got his team relegated because he wanted to get a red card or purposely missed a penalty?

Your argument stands for Toney or someone gambling on things they have no control over. But betting on your own actions is completely different imo.  It fraud plain and simply and you’d have a far different opinion if a Leicester player had been throwing games or something similar. maybe that explains how bad ward is?

Im not saying he’s done anything that’s damaged his club but he could have done.

I wasn't aware he had bet on himself. Obviously that should be heavily punished.

That said, my point really is just that it's all pretty hypocritical.

Well yeah you’re certainly right on that but in his case he has allegedly been part of a betting ring on things he would personally do in a game.  Yellow cards etc. So I get why the fa wouldn’t want him to play again.

He didn't bet.  He had friends and family bet on him getting booked, and he'd duly oblige.

I'd be pissed if I were a bettor who had lost bets due to his actions.

Apparently he was betting on Leicester home games. Each week he was betting on away win, with less than 0.5 home goals.

His defence is that it wasn’t really gambling when it’s  a certain event.

They should show him some sympathy. Poor fella only earns £130,000 a week. He's got to think outside of the box to make ends meet.

It still surprises me how greedy and frankly stupid so many top flight footballers are. IF what you're saying is true, I hope he does get banned for life.

Should just start better 0-2 and 0-4 every week, I'm sure they'll come in lol

I don't really see the irony or the contradiction myself.

Betting adverts / sponsorships = betting and gambling is a service/product that can be advertised in a free market

Banning players from betting / punishing them when they do = protecting the integrity of the game
