Forest now are on similar points and a similar distance above the team below as we were. Their advantage might be that they could only have to finish 5th.

Course it won’t last. The league is set up for the Big 6 to reign in perpetuity.

But I’m going to Wembley next month. And not going to Wrexham next season.

one good season in the last....what 30 years?

and the sad thing is, you wont win anything from it, no silverware etc; and people around the world wont remember it either unlike the leicester achievement

and no one can make it a david vs goliath tale either, cos forest have spent a pure shit ton the past 3 seasons as well

congrats getting to a semi final and being in the top 4, it isnt winning anything tho is it

Im right in thinking Forest won them european cups when it was a knockout competition ?

Correct. 5 rounds (9 games) from Sept - May.

The difference was that the quality of teams from other countries was much poorer and travel was harder. The league was also 42 games, as opposed to 38.

But other teams, such as us, get through 6 games by December and 8 by Feb. If you are a winner you have a total of 13 games, minimum.

What they achieved was very good but cannot be compared. Aston Villa winning it this year would be the closest to our league win that another team could get.

Knocked out Liverpool in one year but lot sure if they had the toughest of draws otherwise .

Quite.

Not sure I'd call it 'rattled' but it's definitely small time.

A sobering thought for our excitable woodland dweller - during their extended gap year we have won the league cup, won the league cup again, won two championship titles plus a league one title, made the QFs of the Champion's League, two top 5 finishes, won the FA Cup, won the Charity shield and won the Premier League title.

Forest have one good silverware-free year and  they're straight over here thinking that they have the bragging rights lol

Wait until they sandwich a 4-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb between league defeats to Bournemouth and Fulham.

they'll be sailing close to the wind again, fully expect one or 2 sales from them in the summer

Watkins sale to Arsenal maybe happen this summer.

To be fair to Forest fans they should be enjoying it this season instead of worrying about the future or what might have been if they dont finish top 5 and/or win the FA Cup.

If anything knowing it won't last should give you more motivation to simply enjoy the here and now.

Exactly. Someone understands.

They just turned  a £55m profit on dhuran.   Add in th eCL monies this season nd they may not need too much surgery in the summer.

Mentioned it in the Man City thread but will do here too. The lack of legal coverage of the midweek matches is disgraceful. Three out of 10 games are live whilst all of the Football League games are available.

Next time there are complaints about streaming, use this week as the prime example.

It's arguably harder when it's straight knock out. No second chances. And although overall the quality was poorer in the late 70s and 80s there was more parity. Was harder imo to dominate several seasons as Real have done recently.

Need a Wolves win tonight. Would all but end the chance of Forest sending us down.

The entire blackout needs reviewing!
