We’re on Sky now v Cardiff playoff semi

Ooh, I might watch this. Surely Kermorgant wouldn’t be d**k enough to try that type of penalty twice :dunno:

Some people have been saying Spurs had a better season than Arsenal.  If that was the case why have they sacked their manager? :crylaugh:

They did.  You're wank.

Yep

He did

Was talking to my mates about this. Two of them find Waghorn at fault as he missed his pen and allegedly was a poor penalty.

I’ve never held that view at all. It was no worse a pen than Solano’s, it’s just that Solano’s went in (because the keeper went the wrong way)

I’m glad Yann disappeared into complete obscurity after this. Tosser

He didn’t really. Had a good career in the championship and played in the prem.

Arsenal had a nothing season yet again under Arteta. It's incredible the love in he gets from your fanbase

Spurs had a terrible domestic season but at least have something to show for it. Arsenal fans will forget the 24/25 season. Spurs fans won't

And I hate Spurs

I think our league form was disappointing in that yet again we finished second, but hardly a disaster.  I don’t think getting through to a CL semi final and losing to a team that smashed Inter in the final could be classed as any kind of failure either.  Btw I don’t particularly like or rate Arteta.

When you finish second to the same team and run them close for two years in a row, when they have an off season you have to pounce. To not even challenge Liverpool for the title is a failure in my eyes. Its second place but a much different second place to the previous two years

Don't know what it is about Arsenal but there always seems to be an eagerness to make excuses

Spurs have had a more successful season. I think Arsenal are dictated by Arteta’s awful mentality. That’s why they don’t win anything.

The Spurs board don’t think he’s had a successful season, otherwise he wouldn’t have got the sack.  How can you argue with that?

Maybe the Spurs board are more ambitious than your own?

I have to agree with that. Arteta has to actually get over the line next season.  If not it should be his last.

I really feel like you're ready for the next step. I mock but he's done an admirable job. Just think he's taken you as far as he personally can. Get a proven winner in now to take you to the next level

Top class,  relativity young managers don’t grow on trees, a bit like prolific strikers.  Someone like Alonso for instance has a breakout season with Leverkusen and gets instantly snapped up by Real Madrid.  I would like it if there were more home grown managers, but they are a rarity in the  PL.

Why on earth do Man City want Ait Nouri? He can't defend for shit

He's generally decent in one v one situations. For instance he's man marked Salah out of games more than once. In fact he had the most ball recoveries of any defender in the league last season (or so I read).

He does occasionally mess about with the ball in his own half and gives it away in bad areas. However he'll have less to do defensively at Man City and will be receiving the ball higher up the pitch other than the occasional playing out from the back, which he's generally pretty good at with his quick feet and one-twos up the line.

I don’t disagree entirely but I do think winning a full premier league season is extremely difficult, especially with a squad that doesn’t really have any experience of doing so. Think the first is the toughest, could see him leaving but could see him winning 2/3 over the next ten years. Think he does need to move on from some of the principles that he has, at least a little, and show some adaptability if he wants to last

I agree it's difficult but he's been at it for 6 years now. Slot's come in and done in it one with a team largely regarded by lost as not being serious title winners. I feel Arteta's football is getting worse if anything. Just don't think he'd have survived at any of the other big clubs

Spoilers: neither of us went up anyway. As much as Sky love to pretend otherwise.

Joke of a decision that. First trophy in nearly 20 years.

If only we’d sacked that leprechaun the summer after the FA Cup, we’d be absolutely nowhere near the situation we’re now in

I like Ange, I’m not particularly fond of Spurs, but this is the correct decision when you think back to the first paragraph

So has Luke Thomas to be fair!
