I grew up loving F1. Shared it with my dad, his best friend and a few of my friends too. We'd all get up in the middle of the night for the races on the other side of the world. Towards the end of the 2000s when F1 made the timings available (for free as well) we'd follow it along in even more detail. I'll never, ever forget that Canada race (2010 I think) where it had been delayed for 2 hours or so by a hurricane; me and my oldest friend happened to be together and were following it along, working out that Button was on one before it became more apparent.

Then in the early 2010s they announced Sky had bought the rights. It was beyond my means at the time and especially beyond my dad's friend's means. But what angered me more than it being so expensive was the fact they thought keeping half of the races for free on national telly was a good offer. It had gone from being completely free to being expected to pay Sky a huge mount of money for access to just half the product. We all lost interest in the sport after that, and lost that shared enjoyment too. I sit down to watch a race now and I just cannot rediscover that enjoyment.

What I loathe most is how we as fans and consumers just sat by and accepted it. Same as the cricket, which disappeared from free to air when I was a child. Same as the football.

There really ought to be more awareness about how much we're being ripped off to access our own culture. Things need to change, they really do.

And unfortunately, much like our football team, some people will always pay for Sky/Season Tickets no matter what.

Modern day football reminds me of F1 these days. Constantly introducing new rules away from the track, that’s under the guise of keeping things interesting, but actually completely nullifies the sport.

I don’t understand PSR, and I don’t want to understand PSR either.

Just like VAR, it’s more of a topic of conversation on a weekly basis than the 22 blokes on the pitch.

Everywhere I look now there's something about PSR or FFP. Or a club wanting to take another club to court. Everywhere people blaming money because of their own failures. So boring. Remember when you'd just read and talk about football or debate managers and players all without any talk of money.

thats a lot of money, feels like Utd could be getting done imo

He is very good and pretty young still but yes they will be taking a risk I guess like with Cunha it’s all potential.

This is classic Man U. Decent player in a decent team has a decent season. They pay way over the odds both in transfer fee and wages. Everyone then piles in on player when he doesn't look as good in a dysfunctional team with big expectations.

Would love Ange here but he wouldn't touch this basket case with a barge pole

Suits all parties I think.. Bit ruthless from Spurs but they were saved a relegation battle by the bottom 3 being so abject, but Postecoglu leaves with a steady rep..

We know first hand how a trophy win can paper over a lot of deep set cracks, winning pots is what its all about and it doesn't diminish the achievement, but if the long-term trajectory of a club looks a bit sketchy then you have to act accordingly I guess..

Ruthless from Spurs, but it didn't seem like Ange was a long term solution to their problems.

I wonder where he goes from here?

Equally, where do Spurs go? They feel like a bit of poisoned chalice these days.

Somewhere like Leeds, probably at Christmas.

Thomas Frank to Spurs seems to be the rumour.

Literally the opposite. Both of those are proven PL players now and they've had to pay through the nose for them.

Logical decision by Spurs and I don't quite get the argument of the trophy win. Spurs didn't get relegated because we were hilariously bad. They won the Europa League because their opponent was Man Utd and the Spanish team in the semi final managed to do an epic bottling.

Managers have season board objectives. Ange failed miserably in 3 out of 4. His sacking is correct.

The question is though, do they have in line a better replacement? I don't think so. It's not only Ange's fault. This team is Championship quality. Needs a massive rebuild and idk what Maddison is doing there. He's not a leader and definitely not a player to build a team around him.
