Logical decision by Spurs and I don't quite get the argument of the trophy win. Spurs didn't get relegated because we were hilariously bad. They won the Europa League because their opponent was Man Utd and the Spanish team in the semi final managed to do an epic bottling.

Managers have season board objectives. Ange failed miserably in 3 out of 4. His sacking is correct.

The question is though, do they have in line a better replacement? I don't think so. It's not only Ange's fault. This team is Championship quality. Needs a massive rebuild and idk what Maddison is doing there. He's not a leader and definitely not a player to build a team around him.

Championship quality with a £120m wage bill. Sounds like gross mismanagement.

I’m surprised Glasner hasn’t been mentioned for the Spurs job.
Experience in Europe and has just had a great season with Palace.

If they aren’t allowed in Europe I could see him pushing for a move

Will Spurs get the same stick we did, when we sacked Ranieri?

They get stick all the time. When Mourinho went and when Pochettino went.

Argument of trophy win because Spurs never win trophies? Over the past decade they have continued to finish top 4 and win nothing or reach finals (domestic and Europe) and win nothing.

This is one poor league season. Remember when Moyes was first at Everton and he finished near the relegation zone then the following season top 4.

Winning a trophy means more to the fans. Not to people like Levy though, he’d rather continue to finish top 6 and not win anything just for the money.

Spurs had been shite for the probably 2 years and got lucky that the bottom three where garbage , the new format was a bag of shite and they beat the worst Utd team 4 times in 1 season including the final. Not surprised he has gone

Normally I'd say winning a trophy should ease any pressure on a manager but I don't think you can ignore Spurs finishing 17th because they've won a europa league which was easier to win than it has been in a long time.

Ange won't be too bothered.

Trying to learn from Man U and Ten Hag last season ?

I'm not a Spurs fan. If it was Leicester and we won the Europa League while finishing 17th I would have been happy but also skeptical for the manager. It is a quite major trophy, it will bring extra revenue because of CL next season but the same quality of football by Spurs from September onwards will bring more humiliating results both in CL and PL. And unfortunately the trophy will be quickly forgotten.

Levy doesn't have a clue but imo he did the right thing sacking Ange. But he needs to sack 15 players also.

Spurs had alot of injuries playing Ange's direct gung-ho aggressive high pressing style of football. His type of football works in cup competitions, that's probably why they were successful in the Europa but it's difficult to play that week in week out in the the premier league

Feel for Ange to an extent but I think Frank is a better and more adaptable manager than him and is more likely to be able to build upon the success of winning a trophy. Whenever a successful and/or trophy-winning manager gets sacked you always get people acting like it somehow wipes out that success - they do actually still get to be Europa League winners, Ange doesn't take it with him in the same way we didn't have to cash in our Premier League or FA Cup to sack Ranieri and Rodgers.

It's a logical rather than emotional decision which I get doesn't feel good because logic is not the reason people love football.

Probably only a matter of time before he goes somewhere as it came out the other day he was holding off extending his contract until he knows how well he will be backed and where Palace want to go after the FA cup win.

Welcome to our world Palace fans because now the expectation horizon has shifted for those around the club & will be pushed into twisting instead of being a steady eddie stick and just stay in the league.

Leicester had proper characters back then who weren't slackers

Pearson always did like an experienced pro to bang some sense into the younger players. Mad to think we had Steve Howard rubbing shoulders with Nobby Solano that season. lol

Rodgers would actually be a really good fit but is probably a year too early, gotta be Frank's turn for a big move.

Rodgers' level is SPL.

Some people have been saying Spurs had a better season than Arsenal.  If that was the case why have they sacked their manager? :crylaugh:

Arsenal had a nothing season yet again under Arteta. It's incredible the love in he gets from your fanbase

Spurs had a terrible domestic season but at least have something to show for it. Arsenal fans will forget the 24/25 season. Spurs fans won't

And I hate Spurs

Spurs have had a more successful season. I think Arsenal are dictated by Arteta’s awful mentality. That’s why they don’t win anything.
