Do you think if we sacked Rodgers earlier like we should’ve done the club would’ve even tried for Emery?

Definitely not. Villa showed great ambition and it’s payed off. Turned them into one of the best teams in the league. I don’t think our owners would’ve thought to go anywhere near a manager like him.

That’s an unbelievable goal from Kvara. What did they pay for him? €75m? That’s a bargain really.

A bargain is the £8-10m Napoli got him for lol

This psg side don’t just have the quality now they really work so well has a unit

They're better off for losing their "stars" but actually building a team.

Really enjoyed watching PSG this year.

So refreshing to see a team being so direct every time they win the ball back and allowing their players to be creative.

Just said the same to some mates.

Most enjoyable football to watch since Barcelona in their prime

Really impressed with PSG and think now they've got rid of the egos in Neymar and Mbappe, they actually look like a proper side. Class goal by Nuno Mendes at the end.

Harsh on Villa that

Was set for a right spectacle next week.

I suppose they’ll have to be less cagey now though, all guns blazing

Not sure how that can be called harsh, would have been harsh on PSG if they didn’t at least have the two goal cushion after that display

Crucial goal that. Villa have tried their best to hang in there defensively but 3 great goals.

I have enjoyed the champions league games much more this season. Seems to have much more focus on attacking and less of the playacting and shithousery which has made games unwatchable in recent years.

Harsh might be the wrong word

Cruel?

I dunno

Great game though. Absolutely love PSGs football.

Enrique might well be the man to usher in the new Post-Pep era of football. The only thing they’re doing wrong is not putting teams to the sword. They should’ve had six in the first leg v Liverpool and the same again tonight.

At 1-2, Villa had every chance take it back to Villa Park just one goal down. Yeah possible... two goals down, can't see it. Of course typical saying the first goal is vital in the second half. Villa score early on, then they may have chance. PSG looked a scary team, may have seen the champions league winners there.

Is this your first time watching one of his teams?

Did you watch his Spain at all?

He's played a significant amount of possession football. Hell, how do you think PSG play against all the teams in their own league that park the bus?

He gets to approach the Champions League like he does because teams come at them. Pep is very happy when his side can get back to front and score quickly just as Enzo was with us last season.

Just don't really get the opportunity very often.

The idea that Enrique is playing some sort of spontaneous, elusive, non-systems dominated football is completely bonkers.

Yeah I think people are overstating PSG style of football a little bit. They have periods of really high intensity and it's great fun, and they have some exciting players going forward. But that's nothing new, Klopp's Liverpool at its best were similar.

But PSG did drop of after getting in front, credit Emery and Villa for defensive shape to keep them in the game up until the end. PSG with a natural number 9 will be hard to beat.

For the neutral, a PSG v Barcelona final is the one you'd want to watch.

It's a completely different level and so many variables, but it's really nice to see PSG transform themselves from overpaying for ego-fuelled stars to a stable, functional, entertaining team which seems to have solid foundations to continue its progression even further than what they've achieved.
