His last 2 games he did not cover himself in glory & think he’s been taken out to protect him.

Whilst I’d rather play him than Ayew he does need protecting because it could destroy him.

Dowman at Arsenal is 10 times better than any of our academy lads and he still has to settle for 14mins here and there.

Monga just needs to keep working hard & learning in training, his time will come.

Yeah I think it’s better he comes on if we have a comfortable lead than when everything is going wrong. I’d support that if that’s what’s happening

He has more goals and assists than his counterpart in Mavididi. It's nowt to write home about but unless the senior pro is smoking it in front of him then he's well within the reckoning.

I think Monga is better off the bench at the moment. Our best left wing option is Mavididi to start and Monga to finish. Occasionally switch it up by starting Monga and finishing with Mavididi.

I agree, Monga will hurt teams more within 20-30 to go or from the start when we show some bollocks as a team (which we haven't yet)

We need to be careful in our expectations of this kid.

Yes he is very talented but he isnt among a group that you think will motivate him to kick on. The quicker we get rid of some of this dead wood and get more players in who want to play for the short and not pick up the wage the better. He needs to be around a more positive scene to see him grow as we seem to be looking at him at Fatawu to dig us out of the shite all the time and its a bit too much to ask for someone so young.

His biggest asset is his speed because he's young, but he's got to learn to give and go, Otherwise he's going to get a kicking from some clogger who's much heavier than he is.

Beating a man should be a last resort.  He could learn a lot from watching Mo Salah or Rashford at his best.

If anyone here is still sad like me and collects stickers, I’ll pay whatever you want within reason for a Monga sticker in the new EFL set

Are any of those three actually trying to take the ball? I get he’s pissing around with his skills like a YouTuber, but none of those 3 lads wants to take the ball from him. They’re dancing back and forth 😂

The one in black is his teammate, the other orange guy moves back to mark the teammate when Monga opens up for a pass to him but he holds onto the ball instead. It's not good defending by the standards that we are used to watching but this is what it looks like when semi pros come up against elite players.

Then dives to the floor when a 38 year old EFL clogger from Grimsby gets close to him.

He is a talent that is being wasted in our team and set up.  He started playing like a cross between Ayew and Mavadidi, bad habit to have.  Now Marti prefers Ayew, the original diving, stink out expert.

Rather see him running into a shooting position like when he scored his goal.

He would be great in the years to come if he could add Albrightons work rate and Barnes direct running on top of his amazing technical skills.

He’d turn into Cristiano at that point

Up to 10 clubs in for him Now apparently.

Is anyone in the know what the contract situation is?

I know he signed another scholarship to keep him with us until the summer of 2026, however can he leave for two packets of chewing gum and a highlighter pen at that point?

Sure, I agree. He is very easy on the eye.

And I absolutely do realise that he is 16, learning his trade and a ridiculous talent....

BUT......

As a winger, his job is to deliver assists or goals....

If he doesn't do those things, then he's basically demarai gray.

He will add it to his game I'm sure, but currently, if he isn't delivering those, then he has to earn his place again.

Not having this…..

As you say he is 16 years old…. And he’s manly been playing when we’ve been the pits….. with little to no momentum for him to use to attack with.

Mavididi and Thomas have been probably the two players who have continued to underwhelm in this mini flurry of results.

Monga and Fatawu are the two best attacking wingers we have……

Monga will grow, but you can’t level any criticism at a 16 year old kid playing a man’s game……

The understanding is, he will sign a pro deal in July. I have a feeling that he will honour that but will be sold in the summer to Man City.

But could there be a 'representative' from Man City, in his ear, telling him not to sign?

They could have last summer as well. Bottom line is, Monga and his family are acutely aware they don't want the club to lose out hugely.

If Man City want him, then they can pay the big bucks.

What’s the point in PSR if they don’t want to play the game.

Yeah has he essentially agreed to sign to make sure we get a proper fee for him and we've agreed we'd let him go if someone does come in
