Even if he was let go at the end of the last Championship season for whatever reason, or if he was ill then and took time off for treatment, it is good that the club have acknowledged his passing and paid tribute.

Whatever happened before is of no matter or odds really, and the club could have been tone deaf and just carried on, but I think you have to give credit where it is due and say the club has done something right here, regardless of if you think it's AI written or not enough. I personally think it's apt.

Really sad to hear. Iconic voice - you always do well to have barely any moans about you when you're in a prominent role at the club!

Gutted I won't get to hear 'number 9, Jamie Vardyyyy' 💙

Alot of people assumed the club gave him the boot after the Vardy/Rudkin thing at the victory parade. This explains it now. Nobody has ever matched him, his replacements have been shockingly bad.

No he'd been let go before his diagnosis.

Very sad - was a top bloke too.

Let’s all stand and applaud on the 25th minute against Huddersfield, to celebrate his life and his 25 year legacy at the club

But just take the bit out that makes it sound like he was announcing the sides on Sunday maybe????

The amount of people just on here that have bought it and created a story about him being ill more than a year ago is exactly what they wanted to happen here... if it's happening on here you can be sure the FB sheep will have lapped it up too.

But I have heard people say that they had seen him at the ground since his departure. The statement doesn’t say he was still announcing.

Very sad news. The voice of our club for so many years.

"And now, your Leicester City side" is only proper in Brad's voice.

The only reason I filled in that post match survey every week last season was to complain we needed Brad back on announcements.

RIP, top guy.

He also did the announcements at DMU graduation ceremonies - calling out the graduates names. Instantly recognised his voice when I heard him.

He was the voice of the club.

Yes he was let go before his diagnosis and it was because of an issue  with Rudkin.I  live in the  same road as the dad of one of Bradley's best mates

Brad was only ill for a number of weeks. His departure from LCFC had nothing to do with illness

Correct I was told he was ill by the dad of one of Bradley's best friends in early July

I went through almost my entire school years knowing Brad, lovely bloke from a lovely family. Shocking news 💙

Indeed his dad John was well known in local sporting circles coaching youth football and and also a local ref if I remember correctly

He was being treated on the same ward as someone else I know. Had nothing but good to say about the club and was still having a part to play with Matty and Tags so he wasn't completely relieved of his duties.

The most iconic voice of our club and as another poster said, and it gave me goosebumps, hearing him say - "Number 9, Jamie VARDY!" "And now, your LEICESTER CITY SIDE!" will forever give me great memories.

Legend of the club, rest in peace Brad.

RIP Brad, 97 was when I started going so he's been my voice of Leicester.

Whoever they had on Sunday is an improvement on last season.
