Whilst malmo were clearly not the strongest team in the tournament, that’s what sometimes happens in cup competitions. (Remember tranmere?)

I don't remember Tranmere in the European Cup!

It would now, but they were the champions of their leagues back then.

I hate Forest, but putting down their European Cups is plain daft.

Same. The likes of the champions of Sweden then would be a lot better relatively speaking than the champions of Sweden now.

So tomorrow is easy mids derby, anniversary of the crash, armed forces remembrance and anti racism game.

Seems a bit too much in all honesty

The crash and remembrance are always likely to clash they are seperate by a fortnight roughly, and there might not be any other home matches in or around the time to have both separate.

Anti racism match could and should be on its own, which is better for it and more powerful that way instead of being lost in the others to be honest.

Appreciate scheduling will dictate a lot of when things occur.

Its one where just feel with the amount of show etc they'll put on for each, they'll lose impact they each should have

I don't belittle their European achievements.

I think we should make more of the pre and post Clough years in terms of piss taking though.

Nothing before, nothing after*

*Not fully accurate but funny

That's the way I see them. Firmly in the same category as us and the 15 or so other middling clubs who have had brief and unsustainaned periods of success.

This is now.

Forest winning the European Cup was a phenomenal achievement

Us winning the Premier League unbelievable

Neither side ar that level currently.   It's a  big game for both clubs.

no easy games in this league

We need to win this, I work in Nottingham, surrounded by forest fans daily. They're already intolerable due to being the only team to beat Liverpool this season. If we lose I'm going full Michael Douglas in falling down on Monday morning. I'd rather be shot dead or locked up for life than have to deal with that insufferable lot having bragging rights.

I see them as we were with a couple of seasons building in the prem. I see us now as the newbies, albeit with prem players, without the proper build up at this level. It's at home and a derby, but by no means are we favourites.

I note the 'not fully accurate' disclaimer there.  I'm sure you know they won 2 fa cups pre clough.  Maybe we could disregard those if we had half a dozen ourselves but it took us 140 years to get one.

Any chant along the lines you're suggesting would not be funny, it would just make us look daft.

Disagree

Football chants don't have to be fully accurate you know.

Why though?

It's really quite sad if Forest fans have to go back half a century to justify them as ever being "good".

Even sadder if we do.

Few will remember their achievements firsthand.

Our glory days are still fresh in the memory.

There's no time limit on the honours list.  I'm sure I will be still banging on about the title win  in the care home.  In the bank forever.

Fair enough, I mean I guess Arthur Cox hadn't really got the pox (one for the kids there), but didn't it make you cringe when we sang 'champions of England, you'll never sing that' to clubs that had won it more times than us?

Just makes us look simple I reckon.

To me Forest are just another team.  Still want to win the game of course, at the very least draw so unbeaten run continues, but I dont get the same vibes as others do in regards to when we play them.

Dead right, but I cringe hugely when we regularly screw up “he’s won more than you”

What do you mean we aren't by far the greatest team the world has ever seen?
