Yes. And yet it was the line-up that people on here lauded the most. What does that tell you? The specific changes that the Foxestalk mob bayed for were instrumental in costing us the game. Mind you, what does that say about the manager?

It reminds us he is human and not superman.

At this point its looking forward to the next game really.

Honestly,  how were we brilliant 1st half?

We had 1 shot on target and , but for an amazing save from Mads, would have gone in 1-2 down.

They ( fill in the blanks ) were better than us , start to finish

How many times did we play through their press and get the ball to the edge of the box but our final pass was poor. We at controlled the game for large parts which is very unlike us. We scored a great goal and gifted them a poor one.

We can only play one good 45mins in premier league games under Cooper for some reason

Mads made a world class save but should have saved their goal - it was a Ward like save, moved far too slowly to let it roll into the corner.

We were brilliant in the first half and deserved to be winning. It was like watching two different sides in the second half - was embarrassing how bad we were.

Cooper doesn't know how to defend in the transitional phase (counter attack) when playing that system which out did us today. Forest played a low block in the second half and targeted us with a fast counter which exploited this.

Cooper is just a really basic level manager. May find a way to keep us up but that would really be his ceiling.

Wasn’t just a “low block”. One of their wingers tucked in, to help nullify the Winks/Ricardo overload, which then allowed their DMs to go after Ndidi/Facundo. They cut off our midfield options which was our strength in the first half. Cooper didn’t adjust to exploit that change.

we tried to play enzo ball but the distribution to abdul and stephy, they had 2 to 3 players to beat, facundo mistakenly thought he'd been possessed by Maradona, JJ looked like he'd forgotten how to defend. Faes with the third was really poor but equally it looked like okoli could have also dealt with it and let it go.

Ricardo rusty but what do you expect.

Mads man of the match

weekend ruined

Don't get the Hermandsen man of the match. Was that based on 1 worldy save? He was at fault for all 3 for me. The first was a weakly struck shot from a long way out that saw Mads look like he was stuck in treacle and not moving across the goal. A top keeper saves that no problem. Second goal was exactly the same a hopeful shot on the turn and Mads again not on his toes and lively enough to get across his goal. Third was all three but Mads again puts himself in no man's land and makes it easy for an in form Woods.  He's a good keeper but certainly not his greatest night tonight.

They’re better than us at the moment, but they’re still crap. A good start doesn’t change that—they’ll be brought back down to earth with a bang. I reckon they'll finish 14th.

Sounds like sour grapes 🍇

They were better than us all over the park.

The difference for me tonight was we actually started the game and looked like we had a plan. We wernt so squew whiffy, lobsided. We actually controlled the game (at least at the very start) which i dont think we have done all season? 2nd half different matter.

How many chances did Forest have while we're controlling the game?

I think the issue is people not being consistent, who is to blame for the loss, who knows, ultimately the manager takes responsibility, but that goes for the wins as well.  But right now we have people flip flopping on things more often than a heated frying pan spits.

A fair point, and I can't speak for everyone. I do think our wins have been very fortunate so far. I don't feel like we've deserved to win any of them really, which is unnerving. And honestly I think that's down to how we approach the game as a whole. I would suggest that's part of the not knowing who to blame: Is it the lack of style? Is it the difficulty to distinguish tactics? Is it players not showing the effort or quality we know they have?

Something just feels off. And more often that not, that comes from the one leading or heading up the team. They should, after all, be a team in his image... right?

You're going to have to be less subtle, that makes no sense to me.

he'd have been fit if Cooper wasn't a completely useless manager who refused to bring him on for a single minute prior to today. man completely failed to manage his squad for the first two months, repeatedly leaving his first subs until second half stoppage time. unsurprising those that are being mismanaged in terms of minutes then look rusty.

How bad must Coady be? We look like a team void of any leadership on the pitch. I'd always prefer my captain to be either a centre half or centre midfielder ideally. Of what is in the starting line up you see why Vardy gets the nod as captain, but I can't help but think that's what Coady was signed for.

Bad enough that a struggling Wolves didn't want him.  Bad enough that he couldn't get into a very nearly relegated Everton side who didn't want to keep him on in a cut price deal despite having other defenders leave the club and needing reinforcements.  Bad enough that one of the most maligned players in recent memory took his place for the entirety of a championship campaign and he never got a look in.  Bad enough that under a new manager he still couldn't force his way into the side despite that manager favouring premier league experience.  Bad enough that his only contribution this season has been to come on and give away a penalty in a 7 minute cameo preventing our first win of the season.

So, how bad does that make him?  Michael Jackson bad?

That was a sackable offence. Nothing against him personally, seems like a nice character. King Power need to be brave and make a change before it's too late. Cooper is not good enough for us.

In their defence, the options in the summer were limited due to the Premier League and EFL trying to screw us over. We have ended up with a dud in charge and a solution is needed now.

Nah, there’s nothing worse in football for me than players refusing to celebrate. You’ve just scored a big goal for your club, go celebrate.

I agree, I understand if it's the boyhood club who you have openly admitted supporting and being gutted to have left (I'm thinking Joe Cole west ham type player) but a journeyman should celebrate every goal they get, even more so against a team that he played for, it means more to prove them wrong.

Yep very good point.

They seemed to go more to their wingers with the first ball though rather than the second ball of wood to expose the gap each side on our back three in transition

Alternative theory, Ricardo hasn't been picked because he hasn't been good enough in training?

Should we have had a pen? I was at the back at the other end of the ground so have no idea if it was a legit shout or not.

Faes is a bomb scare every time he plays and he's our most  experienced defender out there. Surely Vestergaard would have handled Chris wood a lot better than both Faes and Okoli.
