Just moved over from Twitter... looks pretty useful, slightly concerned about ending in an echo chamber, but at least its not Musk and Donny's toy.

Still needs improvement but hopefully can build to a useful place like twitter once was.

Anyone else got thoughts or experiences?

Might it be an echo chamber?

Meanwhile those left and right with opinion appreciate X is still the best place to express stuff and have the greatest ear to their voice across the planet.

Might it be an echo chamber? - In the same way that now Twitter is an echo chamber. Perhaps

Meanwhile those left and right with opinion appreciate X is still the best place to express stuff... MANY people from the left do not think this... Also...MySpace used to be the best social network.

Have made the move.

Obviously early days but it's nice to see my feed not littered with so many bots or trolls or weird and bizarre views (yet).

To me that's the difference. It already just seems a bit more peaceful lol

Kind of how Twitter first came about. It was chilled.

That's exactly how I've found it so far, and for me it just underlines how bad Twitter had got.

Happy to leave that to all the Incel Pied Pipers and flags in bio possible bots calling everyone a 'melt', whatever that is

I’ve just moved, although I’m not much of a social media user. I loathe Musk, despite his clear successes, and I hope Twitter goes the way of MySpace.

I stuck with X as long as I could because I think it’s healthy to get a range of views but I finally gave up on it this week.  If you believe it is representative then Reform would have walked the UK election and Trump would have got 90% of the vote in the US.

I set up an account on Threads a while ago but my feed is blocked up with stories of dates that have gone wrong and people not wanting to swap seats on aeroplanes.  There is little serious discussion and hardly any Sport.

I will give BlueSky a try this weekend.

Deleted Twitter, Facebook and insta about a month back and it's the best decision I've ever made.

Mentally damaging all of them.

Yup, thats me too. Left all social media (though never had twitter). Just can't be bothered with it anymore.

Foxestalk - different kettle of fish 😄

Swapping one billionaire owned social media influencing toy for another.

At least Blue Sky is owned by a less evil one.

We face a mental health epidemic, which social media has played a massive part in.

You'll feel loads better for it.

That is it. It's like heroin or crack cocaine for the masses. Better off without it at all.

Is it just me that doesn't manage to see all the horrible shit on Twitter that everyone else does then? Just keep your feed set to 'Following' and don't follow any dickheads?

I'm quite interested in languages, cultural anthropology and medieval European history which the algorithms seem to have interpreted as me wanting to see teenage Neo-Nazi edits of crusader films. But not all the loony stuff is just right wing, and I disagree with the comment above that twitter made it seem like Trump would get "90%" of the vote in the US, if anything I'd say the opposite. And it's all pretty easy to ignore. I think one of the best things to do is follow a lot of non US and UK accounts which balances out the Anglo-loons.

I don't feel like I'm being ploughed with 'disinformation'. Or maybe I'm just the fish in the fishbowl asking "what's water?".

Never used Twitter nor FaceBook, so I may be way off here.

This new platform, Blue Sky, appears to be a breath of fresh air to social media users and expanding fast. However, won't it just be dragged down to the mean and we'll see Twitter levels of objectionable use, by the very people who join it?

Surely only a matter of time before we designate Jack Dorsey as evil. I like reading @ozleicester posts and his colourful way of describing all billionaires as evil. Why then willingly hand an evil billionaire your money and the ability to play with all your personal data. Baffling

No, it's not just you. I have no issues with Facebook, I'm only friends with people I actually know and it was brilliant for keeping updated when I lived away. And, keeping in touch with old work friends etc.

I only look at posts from people I'm following on Twitter so, again no issues. I get lots of useful news and sport updates via Twitter.

The only pain on both is the adverts.
