If you went on hunger strike the last time we scored, and vowed not to eat until we score again, on a Bobby Sands timeline, you’d have died 6 days ago.

Yep, we talk about silly decisions the club make. They would be daft to pay £5 million now when they could pay £1 million in a week or so. (figures made up).

Though might be they could negotiate with him seeing as its done already anyway pretty much..

Agreed, I am fairly sure he's been asking for a settlement for a while now, I would be highly surprised if he just out right quit.

Id imagine he's going to try and negotiate leaving again today. Given the empty seats and the embarrassing mess the rest of the footballing world witnessed last night, we might finally agree to it, I won't hold my breath but someone must be saying we need to get this culture and rot on the turn before the season ends, you can't play out the last 7 games like that without it rolling into next season.

Paying him more now than we need to in three weeks time could be the difference between having/not having  KDB here next season …….

I think he is prepared to accept his reduced payout now to get out, that is what I gleamed from his interview with Sky Sports after the game.

A man guilty of joining an organisation that he thought was for the greater good but ended up causing misery to many thousands of people throughout his place of home through their overly sickening actions…and as for Bobby Sands!

I’m really torn on this, if we get say Rhol, and he comes in and loses those 7 games his honeymoon has been wasted. I think I’d rather either stick with RVN for those 7, and a big clear out in the summer, or a caretaker for the rest of the season.

Although I’m not sure why I’m worried, our board aren’t aware that we might need a new manager yet and certainly haven’t begun writing the advert for the Mercury classifieds

Put him on gardening leave today and then terminate his contract on July 1st so it doesn't appear on the balance sheet until the next accounting period, by which point we should have trimmed a decent amount of fat from the wage bill as well. BBM and King as caretakers until the end of the season.

Actively pursue Röhl by the end of the day and get him to sign a pre-contract agreement to take over on July 1st, again delaying the compensation payment to Sheffield Wednesday until the next accounting period, but also giving him a whole summer to rebuild the squad.

Fortunately if any of our lads joined an organisation like that they’d cry off as soon as someone started mentioning an ‘attack’ as they wouldn’t know what to do.

Jesus. Our lads would make Four Lions look the SAS.

There’s a couple of concerning things as to the likelihood of RVN being moved in swiftly.

1 - it was made known it was a Top appointment. He seems happy to pull the trigger quickly when it’s not (Puel, Cooper) but I can see this being a Rodger’s situation where it drags on longer due to Top’s ego and not wanting to admit being wrong.

2 - the likelihood of there being a relegation agreement to part company instantly like with Juric at Southampton. I’d say it’s unlikely they have done this as they only seem to have acknowledged we are in both in the last week or so. They probably weren’t even considering relegation possibly when RVN joined.

I like the theory, and I’m sure there’s a way to do this… You’d need some lawyers involved though as it seems risky from an employment law perspective (of course our board could be entirely trusted to navigate complex contracts)!

I'm probably oversimplifying it, but isn't this pretty much what happened with Graham Potter at Chelsea? It's apparently why he couldn't, and didn't, take a job for a while.

Certainly this link seems to suggest that putting RVN on gardening leave to 'protect the employer's legitimate interest' for less than three months would be legitimate.

That’s an Interesting read, seems like there’s definitely a way. The signing of his replacement, even in a pre-contract (which is ultimately a written agreement and therefore arguably a contract) is the sticky bit I think … but a clever lawyer would know the answer and to be fair to KP that’s the one area they seem to pick the right people!

We haven't scored since January.

He is our worse ever manager.

I can accept losing but not scoring in 3 consecutive games is a disgrace, never mind 8. That's on top of him setting us up to just not even attack teams and playing the same team for 4 consecutive games now.

It's a joke. I don't know how anybody within the football club cannot see this is embarrassing. How a manager has lasted this is beyond me.

That’s incredible to see the cold hard stats behind the emotion
