I'd stick by him. Performances have been slightly better under Ruud even though the results have been worse. We were going down this year no matter what, give him some time to implement his style for the Championship next year

We were outside the relegation zone when Cooper got sacked. So that argument doesn't really wash. (Not that I thought Cooper shouldn't be sacked)

average manager

On what basis? He's barely managed a season in over 10 years of coaching

He got the job as he was famous. It's that simple and Rudkin doesn't know how to appoint a manager unless an agent rings up

I dont really know what people want him to do.

The set up was spot on, the game plan was.

He mixed it up and went 442 which also worked.

Palace were never really in it, the players are just not good enough.

You can't say we didn't create chances, just didn't take them and then we are so weak at the back.

I think the decision to bring cooper in and piss 80m on poor signings has killed us, the premier league standard just gets better and we haven't done enough to match it

Absolutely bang on, we created more than enough and in general looked pretty good and solid but truth is at key moments we lacked the necessary quality at both ends of the pitch. That isn’t on Ruud, the lack of recruitment in key areas whilst spaffing a heap of dough on squad fillers like Ayew, Reid, Skipp etc has absolutely killed us.

Our current options across the back 4 reek relegation and yet this wasn’t addressed, we have some key players like Mads, Riccy, Wilf and Abdul missing as well and the alternatives/ replacements are sub standard, again not on Ruud but the board and Cooper for such a scattergun recruitment policy.

Feel for Ruud at the moment, up against it and let’s be honest isn’t blessed with a plethora of options.

Genuinely… what is he meant to do??

we’ve got a squad that’s not good enough for the championship. He’s probably been promised by our wonderful owner and DOF a few transfers which we all know is a lie.

what’s he meant to do. Our players are garbage. 🗑️

We’ll stick with him, go down and he’ll leave with the media’s full support.

Thats the reality of it. I think binning him would be daft now because as others have said who else can make the squad play any better?

RVN was never the right man for the job. Moyes was the one to get us out the mess and to build over the next few years but I guess KP saw pound signs from range of gilets and got him on board. Can’t think of any other reasons to employ him.

Well I wouldn't have got rid of Cooper for exactly that reason but I still think performances have improved and I don't see any point in changing again

I mean what else do you want? The squad is shit.

We've spent ten years bemoaning manager after manager for a lack of bravery, but when one finally goes 4-4-2 to go for it, he can't exactly help having Championship level players at his disposal.

Kasey did more in 5 minutes than Facundo did in an hour, by the way. It's not his fault he's not up to this level. Any competent club hierarchy would have had his ilk out on loan to continue to grow his game.

RVN gets the season for me, and next if he wants it. Would not blame him for jumping before he's pushed with this squad and absolute moron of a DoF though.

No manager is to blame for the mess of the club behind the scenes, there was nothing that neither Cooper or Ruud can do with these group of players. Cooper must be thinking "Well at least when you sacked me, we weren't in the relegation zone"

People saying what does his have to do, get them playing at tempo that's uncomfortable for the opposition, not over 40 veterans pace.

Change a formation, play JJ as a auxiliary RW when he can't beat a man or cross, which leaves us wide open to counters.

Make players take responsibility, you make the mistake you go and front it up to the media in post match interviews.

Stop playing a 38 year old in a system which leaves him isolated.

Improvement on Cooper? Dont make me laugh, clueless ex Man u striker - Rooney 2.

Coopers style was suited to our hopeless, talentless dross and playing his totally unentertaining way was very clearly our only very slim chance of survival.

Once again fvcked up royally by the equally talentless dross running the club.

Who was it that signed 2 Skipp for 25m?

If manager bears no responsibility for results because of the “poor squad” we could’ve saved ourself millions and kept the first manager. He seems to be being cut an awful lot of slack

Does feel like at times, he's too scared to drop Vardy fearing the fans may turn on him if he does. Love Vardy, but he's not effective anymore and slowing the game down.

The sad thing is he, is going to be here for a while now :( don't understand how we are so poor, are the players really the crap or is it the manager am starting to think we sell every player we have and do a Nottingham f and buy 50 new players

I’m waiting for the same excuses I’ve been reading for weeks. Nothing gets better.

Doubt it will untill we sign some better players or our better players come back from injury.

Unfortunately, I don't think either are likely to happen soon.

Maybe, if we played super shit and fluked it, then maybe not.  But we were better than Palace.amd at times played well, so if.we did win by a magical Danny Ward goal, then yes

He needs players, too many players are brain dead to the core.
