Think it's quite alarming that we conceded 4 and could have been 8, and our best outfield player was probably our centre half in Vestergaard.

Midfield was an absolute disgrace, no tracking of runs, no interceptions, no tackling. Then we did have it no hint of trying to do anything progressive, Hamza has never been a Prem player never thought I would say the day thank god Soumare is back next week.

Full backs pair of competition winners, can't defend for toffee, always out of position and offer nothing the other way, a truly terrible le combination.

Let's not lie to ourselves here, that was as bad if not worse than anything Cooper served up. The squad is dog turd, without additions in Jan (not the Skipp kind) we are doomed to go down, can't continually nick points and games all season, that luck will run out soon enough, we could conceivably on the same amount of points Southampton are.

Vesty was way better.

There was one passage of play where Vesty must have been sick of the midfield doing nothing and stepped up into midfield and was trying to orchestrate passes to force something positive.

Everytime it got to Hamza he has no idea and just tried to pass back or sideways to be safe.

Squad has been substandard since the end of last season... the decision makers at the cllub had already decided we were getting relegated due to psr and bought manager and players with that in mind.

We are not good enough for the prem.

I cannot believe we cannot find players from the youth team who are better than some of those we fielded yesterday.

Hamza was dismal and was simply a negative. Didn’t do much defensively and was absolutely shxt in building up plays. Can’t believe he is a PL player.  How can he not even string a few forward passes together as a PL player? What does he do in practice all day? Even if you put Alves there it would have been better - at least we can string a few passes together in midfield.

Van Nistelrooy should probably realise now we need quite an overhaul. I'd imagine he'll get fed up when Rudkin serves up his usual in January.

When was the last time we grounded out a result against a team we’re not expected/likely to get points from. I

Brighton last week?

Awful! Especially with Ipswich winning, ward should be knowhere near the first team!

Not a lot a reserve 'keeper can do when the defense goes and midfield go missing.

Southampton, Ipswich and Wolves are?

I only saw highlights on MOTD and it was all Newcastle attack and our defence turned inside out looking like headless chickens. We are in trouble with this lot

Set pieces again yesterday. Lots of filler, and no killer in the squad. They’ve got Barnes coming off the bench for them. Dust ourselves down, and get ourselves up for a massive match next weekend.

So what suggests Wolves will be safe?

I feel their squad quality is enough to survive.

edit.... guess we'll know more later this week

You've obviously not watched them this season..I'm not sure that 40 goals conceded in 16 games suggests a quality squad

yeah didnt people say that about us?

theyve sold loads of players and theyve hardly replaced them, selling the likes of Neto, Kilman etc and not really replacing them

they are a shambles on and off the pitch with Cunha looking like he could face a potential ban as well

To be fair they have better technical players than us but mentally they look so fragile. Is that down to Gary O'Neil and once he's sacked they start to pick up? That's the worry I suppose

Having just seen the low lights on motd, that must be the most inept embarrassing defending in any PL game by any team this season. The team looked like they were out on the lash till 3am. Utterly abysmal.

It's infuriating. Yes the midfield is non existent too but they can't seriously call themselves defenders. No marking or positional awareness between them. Would love to sack off the lot of them

JJ was the one for me yesterday. The midfield was a problem, and Ward doesn’t inspire confidence, but JJ really struggled. Not sure Stephy is quite PL quality either.

My thoughts on this.

1 - dont judge based on highlights.  Its only a tiny snapshot of the game.  In particular it fails to show much of anything in the midfield battle ground area.  I think many on here focus on this as well, which is why people keep blaming defenders and not the midfield.

2   Ruud needs time, Said same about Cooper.

3 - Squad isnt good enough, especially in midfield and forward wingers.

Luckily couple of weeks to go till Jan, however our owners will probably hide behind PSR, as far as I know KP no longer own the club, its individual members of the family now shares were transferred.

They're like statues frankly, Justin is so easy to get past and once the attacker has, he just gives up and Coady Vesty have got no pace or mobility same applies to Okoli. They're all just honking.

They’ve been horrific……. They’re suffering from the same issue we did under Rodgers last season. Haven’t been able to invest and need an overhaul.
