Not only is king power battling its own financial turmoil. The same cash injections would be hit with 50% percent haircut because of SCMP.  
This is also a reason that makes us less desirable for new owners that want to inject money straight away as opposed to championship clubs for sale.

The combination of League One restrictive rules and the club's massive Prem sized baggage makes us a far less attractive option to a wealthy buyer compared to a Championship club.

could be that he’s driving cash to take ‘dividends’  but that would just reduce the sale valuation.  The former route is obviously more tempting if you’re headed down an admin route cos you know the sale won’t generate sufficient value.

Or it could make us attractive as they think they could get us cheaper than a championship club because we are in league 1 and we have the infrastructure to succeed quickly once we are back in the championship and they can put the money in

Don’t want to temp fate but you have to think that we’ve pretty much bottomed out as a club or are very close to that point.

 

So with the size of the club, history, fanbase and infrastructure, we must be a fairly attractive proposition, with a mission to ‘bounce back’ for someone or a group with deep pockets and ambition.

 

its not like we’d need to build a new stadium, training ground etc.

The league one rules appear restrictive but they’re not really. They’re ambiguous at best both Wrexham and Birmingham exploited them fairly easily… they’ve made subtle changes but they’re not that different…. Owners can still pump money into the club, and turn it into equity, but it’s all relative to how much is invested into the club to offset the revenue / wage bill split. 
 

You don’t need to necessarily flood the club with money anyway. But for a rich owner it’s very easy to essentially buy your way out of the leagues which is what Birmingham did, and Wrexham have for some time.

I guess it would all depend on how desperate Top is to sell and how confident he is of promotion. If there is no risk on his part, why would you sell this season. When it’s likely we would be promoted.

That used to be true, but the EFL officially killed the equity loophole for the 2025/26 season onwards.

I think we are very fortunate to have good youngsters (at this level) coming through because we were a successful premier league club when they came through the different age groups.
