King Power Out

Remember “Who is gonna buy us if King Power sell??? Huh huh??” As if it was some insurmountable hurdle. Well it’s only Citibank trying to find a buyer.

There’s some light at the end of the tunnel

It was always a stupid argument. As if I am supposed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of everyone in the world with the capital required to purchase a professional football club in England. My suspicion is that at least 95% of these people had never heard of King Power before they took over and they would argue that it was a net positive.

Tbf they do still need to find a buyer,  and no other club will have Maquary loans to repay, so I still wouldn’t bank on it being straight forward.

If the 115 charges do result in a severe punishment maybe Enzo will come back, perhaps in a coaching role?

It’s stupid in the context of people asking which individual or organisation would take us, but not really in the context of are we an appealing purchase.

That wouldn’t be enough by itself to put any prospective buyer off. It’s more down to King Powers valuation. We know they don’t understand market value of assets so I think they’ll be completely unrealistic. The biggest barrier will be the state of the finances

Okay, realistically we are looking at US investment.

Woody Johnson - New York Jets

John Textor - Eagle Football Holdings

Or a US led consortium that would be all

over us after the World Cup, with a load of people we’ve never heard of.

We covered this once on BTG I believe. Martin was previously offered the job before Cifuentes got it. It was a very odd affair where he was interviewed by more than 10 people at the same time and was offered the job at the end of the interview. During it he asked if the club was for sale and was told it was.

At the time Martin walked away because the whole experience seemed weird as hell and set off major alarm bells, but 12 months later I guess was less picky!

Given we got in Martin’s preferred assistant and some of the signings he wanted already I think he is probably generally in the know as to what’s going on. But you never really know, as you can tell that PSR issues were kept from Enzo a few years ago.

It’s that last paragraph that’s the key bit.

We satisfied Enzo with the same and then back tracked. We’ve got past for starting off by doing what has been discussed and then quickly doing a U turn and ****ing the manager off. He’s still not spend a penny, if he’s been promised money as per the reports then I’d be starting to question whether it’s happened again.

Stay well away from the jets owner, laughing stock of a NFL side

We still have a Premier League class stadium, world class training facility, solid season ticket sales and a marketable name outside of England.

I’d guess at US investment, however I wouldn’t rule out investment from Asia, or even a group like Red Bull or 777, RedBird etc etc
