Couldn't care less how quick he is, he's far, far, far better than what we have at the moment. Could be a Huth like signing. But he'll unlikely sign for us.

He's better than anyone we have, but the pace thing is an obvious issue - that's the main issue with our defence and he doesn't fix it.

if we can get him really improves our defensive unit.yes he is not the quickest and we lack pace.  But I don’t think pace is the main issue. Our CBs can not defend. Look at the goals conceded against Wolves. We were not beaten for pace. Dreadful defending. Can’t win a header and no cover for the first goal conceded. 

 

coady has been unwanted by his last 2 clubs both deemed him not good enough

 

vestegaard is a good passer. Not defender. Really poor in the air for his height 

 

faes. Less said about him the better

 

okoli. Part of me thinks he will be decent with a competent defender next to him. 

 

Maguire will improve us immediately. 
 

same for Chilwell if we can loan them for the rest of the season.

Anybody who thinks Maguire or Chilwell, players from big clubs and big wages, who still have ambitions of playing for England, are likely to be interested in playing for a team in a relegation scrap where their defensive limitations will be exposed further, and who probably can't afford their wages either, are IMO dreaming. Both Maguire and Chilwell will secure moves to far more lucrative and secure destinations should they move away from their parent club.

Your last 3 points I totally agree with.

 

Yes Maguire lacks pace, but at least he can head and attack a ball. 

 

And Chilwell is a definite improvement on VK..

To be fair, for us at the time, he was immense. We noticed when he wasn't playing. I mean, it was Amartey covering, but he was good. Man Utd was too much of a jump, and basically shattered him. He's slow, but maybe with Okoli, might actually be solid. He can head the ball, that's a bonus on our current lot!!!

He does a lot of pointing and moaning so would fit in well! At least he can head the ball and does actually read the game and covers quite well. Massive upgrade in what we have.

I’d have him back just for that last minute Man U 2-2 equaliser!

Chillwell is on nearly 200k and there was a article yesterday that no clubs are interested and he faces 6 months out of action
