You're off your tits if you think anybody is stumping up £20mill for Faes.

I think in a decent side he can be a good player he has a lot of good attributes.

Like Cags you feel he needs to be next to an Evans type.

You must have watched a different Wout to me - he’s garbage and in the same class as Amartey - car crash, inconsistent and over rates himself plus his barnet needs a cut!

I don't think a club has ever negotiated a lower fee based on a players haircut but I might be wrong

I don't think that'll be the case. We'll gamble and have to sell retrospectively in June.

I meant more so about positions in the squad, have we actually got any room?

We will have 2 spaces in the 25 man squad if/when Edouard is sent back

Plus any players under 21 don't count so El Khannouss and Fatawu etc don't. So I suspect we'll see such a player come in, Valentin Gomez for example.

Doesn't make a huge difference how much money or head room for wages we have, in my humble opinion.

As long as Mr Rudkin is at the club, we will continue to make bad calls and operate as amateurs.

The transformation required to this squad and this side of the forum being so quiet says to me we’ve already ****ed it. We need players walking in the door tomorrow, yet Dud-kin will be at horse races until the last day of the window.

We can go out a spend around £50m because it's pretty much nailed on that Mads will leave in the summer for this amount so the club cannot use PSR as an excuse not to spend big.

Tell you what, the sure sign of our application to this process is if Edouard is gone by Saturday, ideally before.  That means they are being proactive and focused, coz that what it needs to be, as a minimum.

Ideally bodies in can be there by QPR (plural!!)

If we sold Mads for £50 million (likely more) but doesn’t that mean we could reinvest significantly more, as transfer fees are amortized (correct word?!) over the length of contracts? For example, we could potentially sign players worth £250 million total, each on 5-year contracts, spreading the cost across the contract period for PSR compliance. Obv £250 million is very unrealistic, but that’s kind of how it works, right?

That's my understanding although obviously the wages will also need to be factored in, which won't be insubstantial.

I would sale Faes and bring in a new CB, he's probably go for a decent fee, we paid 15m odd on a 5 year contract so anything over 9m would create a positive swing on the accounts.

I think we could easily get what we paid, I think he's a player that would suit a better team.

Iversen depends on Hermansen injury.

Personally think we should be open to good offers for anyone other then Hermansen, El Khannous, Ndidi.

Agreed

Think Cannon will be sold for somewhere around £8m, otherwise it’ll be loans out and maybe a small fee if we let Iversen go.

I don’t think anybody will want any of the other players we would consider selling. Maybe Kasey to a championship club for £3m or so but I don’t even see that happening.

As others have said, spend the money and if we were to go down I suspect we sell Hermansen pretty promptly in June.

If we could bring in 10m that cover enough for 1 years amortisation for 50m income fees.

(50m ÷ 5 year contracts =10m)

Obviously we have to think how we cover it the year after.

The team as it is goes down with a whimper and the EFL are preparing a dildo the size of a Pringle's tube for us next season, so going for it is pretty much the only option. Splash out this January and sell Mads at an obscene profit and we might be OK.

I suspect we will as we clearly struggled to recruit in the summer with several targets going begging, and we've had both injuries and underachieving players to contend with since then. Hlozek, Ioannidis, Soule, Asprilla, Zaha, Bergwijn, Broja, Mohamed and Datro Fofana were all linked and not one got over the line.

And they've all largely been shit as well, which doesn't bode well.

Which is why we have to hope that RVN has acquired some decent contacts and we look into the Belgian market that has served us well.

But missing out on NINE targets in one summer is ludicrous.

The article talks about City manager Enzo  so this could be a year old rehash.
