He could be decent in a two but doesn't RVN tend to play one up front with 2 wide players?

Yes, But that's because that's the only option we have. We are too one dementional.

I've read that Ruud wants to sign a big strong CF.  Someone who can hold the Ball the Ball up while others get into position.

This is something we've needed ever since Rogers let Ulloa go and never replaced him.

I think Cannon would trive in this system, Where he just needs to be quick over a short distance, which he is. And he has a finishers instincts for positioning.

The strange thing is he hasn't even tried Edouard in any game so lets see what Happens in this Window.

people are so quick to forget how harry kane looked for us  ( same age as cannon). He was not bagging goals as consistently and certainly had a long way to go still. Where was toney or watkins at this age? Because he got a well paid move people just look at him as a senior pro rather than a kid who could only legally drink in the states as of last week. While i’m reminding everyone of his age, chris popov is 20… do we judge him the same?

i’ve seen Everton fans still frustrated they sold him. I think that had he been from our academy, we’d be looking at him in a different light.

I’m just annoyed that we aren’t in a financial position to be patient and see what level he can reach because the reality is that a 3 mil profit would probably be taken right now.  If we go down, we’ll need a striker and would be looking at someone of his profile so selling him just seems barmy at this point.

I remember asking my Spurs fan mate about Kane when he joined us on loan. He didn't rate him at all and the rest is history. Not sure we should be getting rid of Cannon without another proper look by Ruud. Don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water

Wasn't it rumoured he wasn't interested in leaving permanently due to his wages he's on? Maybe the distinct possibility we'll go down and he'll then be on much less might convince him to move on but then again he'll play more for us next season if so.

Now Stoke have got Robins in, I’d be inclined to leave him there as Robins is a much better manager. Will be interesting to see how he gets on under him although a 0-0 draw at home to Plymouth was not a great start. Then again Plymouth had removed Rooney so probably had a lift themselves.

I really hope he can have a strong second half to the season and come back full of confidence to lead the line next season.

I don’t think there is really any PSR benefit to a sale based on what we purchased him for and what we’d likely sell for. We will gain much more benefit from him being out on loan and doing well so the question is really, Stoke or elsewhere for the rest of the season.

Depends. If we for example got £8m+ for him then we'll be £2-3m up on his book value and wages which is the equivalent of a £10-15m signing over 5 years for PSR.

Would you take a swap deal for Adebayo?

Unless there is clear evidence that he's already hit his ceiling we'd be nuts to sell. He's the future. Literally the only striker on our books who is. Vards, Daka, Eduoard will not be scoring us goals in 12 months time.

He doesn't do anything apart from an instinctive attempt going in every now and then, and has as much pace as Matt Fryatt had, he ain't making it in the PL.

He’s been patchy though.

4 in one game against Portsmouth, who are woeful. One was a penalty. One was a freekick. Two from open play.

1 goal against Derby - Penalty

1 goal against Blackburn - Penalty.

1 goal against QPR - Open play.

1 goal against Luton - Open play.

1 goal against Sunderland - Open play.

In the 21 games he’s played, he’s scored in 6 of them. Of that 21 games, he’s only scored in 4 games from open play.

He’d struggle in the Premier League. His shooting is largely long range and good keepers and better defenders don’t allow those shots to go in.

The crowd and fans would quickly turn, as it would be like watching Undër again!

So he’s now 22 games, scoring in 4 of them from open play.

I think he’d struggle at the top end of the Championship, never mind the Premier League.

He’s a pot shot merchant like Ben Marshall use to be for us. Sell at the first opportunity.

I mean, this is him compared to Daka, who most of our fans despise, playing in a lower league.

That doesn't address the fact that he's the only one with potential to be around in a year. Phase out the shite & the old first before the (possible) succession plan. He's not the Messiah granted. But he's still young. And a squad needs 3+ strikers

Apparently hes not fit enough, and they were doing extra training with him but, Apparently his attitude to the extra training sucks, not sure why he is still here, unless there is a clause

Whilst I am firmly not in the "Bring Cannon Back" brigade,  I think it's a tad unfair to compare their champ seasons given Daka was playing in the best side in the league and having watched Stoke in a number of matches this season, he's been playing in a side that makes our current prem team look adventurous going forward.  They're horrible.  Or at least they were before the sacked Pelach.

For me if we can get back what we bought him for minimum, then sell on the basis that we can use that money to buy someone in for the backline rather than a backup striker who may never kick a ball for us.

That’s comparing Daka this season with Cannon this season.

Fair point :D

I didn’t actually check to see how Daka was in the Championship.

It’s a weird league, as I think ability wise, it’s better than Some of the dross that gets into UEFA competitions.

If Daka had a run of 5 90s I’d wager his numbers drastically drop.

Cannons playing in a stoke team just as bad as us, even vardy is getting more chances than him.
