Where will we finish this season?

  1. 1. As the title suggests where do people think we will finish?

We'll be losing again on Saturday, so things may look even worse than they do now in just a few days time. So we simply need to come out all guns blazing Vs palace. Which we'll all think is what's going to happen, until 20 mins in it's blazingly obvious it's wolves part 2. And that as they say, will be that.

We might start playing better with 5 or 6 games left when we've been relegated, or are about to be.

Only great early Jan transfer business can save us now, but that would require a decent hierarchy,  manager and lots of funding and i don't think we have any of that, unfortunately.

I think we will.

Transfer embargo will force us to recruit from the academy along with those we retain from this squad.  The Championship is so poor, I can see title number 9 next year.

Whatever you are on...  can I have some?

Bottom 3, but I do think this team - with strongest players available - can win enough games. But I think the Cooper blooper has left us with a mountain to climb.

The blooper was playing Ward against Wolves.  MASSIVE game-  we will go down because of it.

Our middle 6 or so game run in this second half of the season is horrific. Needs to accumulate points before then to have a chance of not being cut from 17th. If we are in any sort of form and less than 3 points from safety by the last 5 games of the season then I'd feel ok.

Realistically we aren't going to get anyone decent in January and even if we did they would have to adapt quickly. Damage was done in the summer when Maresca went which no one expected. Panicked in appointing Cooper and also in the transfers we got eg Skipp, Okoli. Wasted good money on these duff buys. Wolves now picking up points. Sadly we will be relegated.

Bottom 3. Think we're cooked.

We can score goals, without question. But we just always concede more. A team that is incapable of keeping clean sheets or even defending to an consistently acceptable level, deserves to go down. We sadly meet that quota.

The games we have won were all fortunate.

Bournemouth: Opposition were wasteful, we were clinical.

West Ham: Opposition were wasteful, we were clinical.

Southampton: Awful performance, saved by Fatawu.

I personally believe, right or wrong, that Ruud is not the right appointment, but we have to give him a chance now. I was more Team Moyes, for the sake of sorting out the defensive calamities, which still happen intermittently. January will be the test of RvN's capabilities and use of the transfer market. Good luck to him, but I've seen enough to think we are heading back down.

Spot on, only thing is, even if we'd have sensibly gone all out for Moyes, he was never coming here - he is very clear that he's not finished with the prem but wants no part of a relegation battle.

Also people hold out hope for a January miracle but here's the bad news.

1. Quality players wont want to come here.

2. We are not able to spend big.

3. This is the killer - our relegation rivals will also be looking to strengthen!!

This is unfair l know but it's just the way it is! 😐

Also unfair is that Rudkin wont be selecting THEIR targets, only OURS!

Nailed on bottom two, not a single doubt in my mind.

Personally l enjoyed the Championship last season and hope to again next season when we are down.

Unless we turn it around quick, l can only see the bottom three, if Vardy gets injured we have no cover up front, apart from Daka, and we are let too many goals in.

And the great man even if fit all season simply cannot lead the attack effectively every game, maybe this is why we have stopped scoring - he's just knackered!

There is simply no one else, Ayew is the only option, Daka is a joke and not near EPL standard and Mavididi has not kicked on from the Championship.

19th - that wolves match will haunt us big time. Not just them getting the 3 points against us, but giving them the momentum in the following games to give them more points

Bottom 3 unfortunately.

The midfield 4 who started against Man City would hold their own but in attack and defence we are falling well short.

I can’t see a team in the relegation zone being that attractive to anyone on a permanent deal in the January window.

Okoli is far better than you think in my opinion.

I really think there's a player in there somewhere with Okoli

Next 4 gws are pivotal. palace and Fulham at home away to spurs then Everton.

Everton have  Villa spurs and Brighton then us.

And Ipswich have Fulham Brighton man city then Liverpool.

If we are still in the relegation zone after that then that’s game over. Use these fixtures to get ahead then we just have to match their results until the end of the campaign.  I’d guess  it’s completely done  if we don’t overtake them both by the end of that run.

With West Ham getting Potter and Everton getting Moyes, it's probably going to be be a 5 team mini league now to stay up with Wolves, Palace, Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton in the mix
