This has been oddly passive from RB. Horner would have been throwing banana skins on track by now.

I mean Tsunoda did try and run Norris off the road haha

The camera panning around to the weird amount of people behind the glass in the podium room. F1 chairman lurking around, every driver looking at him wishing he'd go away

Yeah, that was odd! Imagine all of those are rich people who've paid insane amounts for the privilege. Bit cringe.

As an F1 casual these days, I don’t know much about Norris’ back story.

Someone told me he was a spoilt rich kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth whose career has been bankrolled by his rich father.

Is that fair?

Yeah this can be said for pretty much all of them apart from Hamilton and Ocon I believe.

You can't be a F1 driver without rich parents, so that seems accurate.

Except Hamilton who was from working class backgrounds  with his old man doing 2 jobs to pay for Lewis

Overall it's been a great season as the end of regulation seasons usually are. In the end Lando did what he needed in the car he had relative to everyone else, Oscar will be a WDC in future just needed a bit more consistency late on.

Hopefully the new regulations create close racing and we don't end up with another runaway team as we seem to always get these days.

His dad may not have been rich, but it was still a very middle class upbringing. It's not like he was doing nights at Tesco to be able to afford his karting.

It's just that karting is so expensive, it's all relative.

Generally speaking that's the case, there are a few outliers but yeah, this sport is incredibly hard to get to, it costs around £5-10m to get to F1 depending on raw ability, and usually it's only on the lower cost side if you have generational talent where sponsors will bare a bigger chunk of the cost.

Overall impressed by Lando, his ability to bottle winning positions over the past few years was impressive to the point thought he'd bottle this. Fully expect Piastri to win a championship in the next few years

Very pleased for Lando, he's always seemed to me like a very genuine lad. I'm glad he did what he needed to.

I liked how confused he was by the fact he had done it. Beneath the social media stuff he seems quite humble.

Could be the last one he gets I suspect.

Hopefully the new cars for 2026 make it more exciting.  Great to see another British champion,  but most of the races this season have been processions.
