It’s really difficult for any manager to come back from seven losses. I’d imagine he was given the role with the idea being he stayed on whether we stayed up or went down.

You're really proud of yourself for coming up with Van Noidea aren't you? 🤣

Actually I am .... I feel sorry for him ... if he had any idea he would have not took the job ... he is way out of his depth and its now clearly showing

I really can't see him being here in August either way.

If/when we drop we need another fresh start like we had with Pearson and Maresca.

I'm so angry. As a mediocre Manager (ala Cooper) would have managed at least one win and a couple of draws. Which remarkably would see us out of the relegation zone. But this clown has produced absolutely nothing. That's bonkers! I'm not at the matches often. But is there any chemistry between Ruud and the squad?

Half of this forum would hve turned their noses up at him, insanity.

Yep, it would have been "I'd rather be relegated than have Moyes"  this is where the term "entitled" is justified, these people live in a different universe where we are as attractive a managerial prospect as say Bournmouth when in reality we're closer to Blackburn!

Personally I'd take any experienced manager over Van Rooney.

You're suggesting that poor results last season and this have nothing to do with the manager and everything to do with Ndidi. I think there's a risk of falling into the trap of believing that there are one or two straightforward magical solutions to our plight. Wilf's form trailed off for several seasons towards the end of our last PL spell, and he was a regular in the relegated side. We did drop off midway through last season, but form was mixed even after his return (we lost 5 of the 12 games he started). He'd been up and down this season, to my eyes at least.

I haven't seen enough to believe that the boss is the weak link either - I just feel the squad is poor, unsettled and that two different managers haven't had the time or circumstances to effect change. But I'd be wary of thinking that a manager was entirely guiltless and helpless, or that we're the only ones to suffer key injuries. Mads was a huge loss, but we couldn't have banked on him continuing to work miracles. And some of Ruud's decision-making, in spite of the difficult circumstances, can be questioned.

I'm not necessarily saying that Ndidi is the magic player to bring us wins, but that when a team with a lackluster squad like ours loses it's key players, it should be expected for results to start going against us.

Our form didn't drop when Ruud joined, it dropped when the two big injuries hit us. That's the clear cause and effect I've seen.

Martin O’Neill lost 9 of his first 10 games before he got us playing O’Neill ball then became the GOAT the Legend the GOD, so let’s just give Ruud a bit of time let this window finish see if we bring in anyone else see what Top does just another few weeks to see if Ruud can cross the T’s and join the dots to turn this Schitt around !!

Ange now odds on with most bookies to be the next manager to go ……would have him here absolutely

100%! not sure he would come here though with the risk of relegation so close. If we were mid table I think his next move would be a club in that sort of position.

Point taken but Martin's record was won 1 drew 7 lost 2 of his first 10 games.

Sorry mate, that's way off. O Neill had served his time as a non league manager with Shepshed and Grantham..spent a decent 3 or 4 years at Wycombe getting them into the league and establishing them there and then done six months at Norwich.

All those years of apprenticeship needed for a Championship team.

This Dutch fella has done 1 season in Holland and four games at Man U. He's grotesquely undercooked and over promoted

Nah, some of us are fed up of years of negative football that we had under Puel, Rodgers and then Cooper. The main reason I stopped going (though there many other reasons for not starting going again).

The club has absolutely no worth if you don’t want to watch them. It’s a spectator sport.

I wonder, has there ever been a time where we (or really any team) have played attractive entertaining football but got relegated?

This isn't meant to be a jibe I just can't really think of anyone

I think work has clearly been done on the defence. 1st half Fulham had 0 shots on target and in the 2nd half they converted the 2 shots on target they had.  But, last few games the inability to score has killed us as this would have likely changed all games.

They may have had 0 shots on target but they were cutting through us at will , but were wasteful with their efforts or final ball.

We weren't defensively solid at all

Although I ended up disliking both and both tenures ended badly , we played some very decent stuff under Puel and Rodgers.

Think that's very unfair tbh

It’s such a weird situation where I think Ruud has actually improved us in transition and we often look better on the ball, but I don’t think Cooper would have taken us on this disastrous run.
We’ve somehow got “better” but make far more mistakes.

This sums it up perfectly.
