£30k for a lad that's never even played in the Championship is a lot of money and would be well above market price. There are solid Premier League players on that sort of money. Yoanne Wissa has 16 league goals this season for Brentford and is on £25k a week for instance.

 

There's plenty to offer a player outside of wages with Leicester. We shouldn't be relying on paying through the nose to sign players because it's how you end up with a squad of mercenaries that don't give a ****.


Let’s use Wissa as an example then… he went to Brentford at 24ish for £10m on £25k/wk after not doing much beforehand.

 

That’s paid off after 3/4 years (he was alright last season too to be fair).

 

Could say it’s a similar signing, Brentford were in the PL when they signed him,  granted.

 

I’m not saying he’s worth £30k/wk but that’s not outrageous for anyone coming to us in the Championship. We have to try and win promotion in the next 2 seasons. We’re going to have to pay fair wages for whoever we want to bring in.

 

This transfer window is one we NEED to get right!

I know he's not really kicked on from his breakout season but I still think Miles Leaburn is worth a punt.


We need a couple of strikers anyway!

My list for what its worth of potentially realistic and attainable players to supplement the talent in our academy and to move forward with players who will be signings that won’t bust the bank but also offer potential sell on opportunity. 

 

GK - Freddie Woodman (PNE), Sam Tickle (Wigan), Harry Tyrer (Blackpool), Sanne Lammens (Antwerp) 

 

Full Back -  Kaine Kesler Hayden (PNE - Villa loan), Caleb Wiley (Watford loan), Flavio Nazinho (Cercle), Ethan Galbraith (Leyton Orient) 

 

CB - Maksym (Plymouth), Callum Doyle (Man City), Tyler Bindon (Reading) Nathan Ngoy (Standard Liege) 

 

CM - Ben Sheaf (Cov),  Yacine Titraouri (Charleroi), Noah Nartey (Brondby) Victor Froholdt (Copenhagen) 

 

AM - Kwame Poku (Peterborough), Niko Jankovic (Reijka), 

 

Striker - Adam Buksa (Midtjylland),  Hamza Igamane (Rangers), Adriano Bertaccini (St Truiden)

Don't know if it's been mentioned but we should be looking at players like Richard kone from Wycombe. Up and coming with a point to prove, no doubt we won't be but that's the market to look in.

Worked out very well with Fatawu and I thought Yunus was decent for us

To think we repaired Yunus with Ayew or BDCR.

Whilst he frustrated at times last season, you could see the talent

Nelson, Souttar*, Okoli, Darling as our 4 options next season

 

*depending on Souttar's injury, possibly keep Coady until January

Chancel Mbemba - Free, way too good for the Championship and would absolutely dominate it.

Jocelyn Janneh - CDM - 22 years old - Less than £5m, deep lying midfielder very much in the Ndidi mould, his defensive metrics have been very good but needs to develop himself on the ball more and does sometimes get caught out, could grow into a very solid player in a couple of years.

Oscar Gloukh - LW/CAM/CM - 21 years old - Probably going to cost us £15-20m so would be a replacement for El Khannouss if he leaves, he will 100% move on to the Bundesliga likely to Leipzig if someone doesn't snap him up early, he's worth every single penny of £15-20m

Stefan Bajcetic - DM - 20 years old, massive potential and has been quite highly rated by Liverpool but got injured, went on loan to Las Palmas and has been rated highly over there in their relegation battle in La Liga, unlikely to feature much for Liverpool in the next season or 2 atleast, so could be open to a Loan move with an option to buy at the end, I'd imagine somewhere in the range of £10m option. Bit of a risk this one but looks a solid player for the future.

Elie Junior Kroupi - ST - Has played brilliantly for Lorient this season on loan from Bournemouth, I'm not sure if they plan on giving him more loan time or throwing him straight into the prem, but if he's available for loan he could be an option for a low fee. 20 goals this season and has only started 67% of matches so quite a few appearances as a sub.

He would be a great pick up. Unfortunately, we will be in a sell to bring in particularly at centre back where we are stocked numbers wise. I can’t see us shifting Vestergaard, Faes and Coady, if needed, early in the summer, likely at the end of the transfer window if anything so I could see us missing out on targets like Darling on a free who will surely have offers from other clubs. It’s not like we are an attractive prospect anyway, particularly not to sit around and wait for us when there are other options.
