Man who literally looks like a frog promising to fix problems that his weird fixation on Eastern Europeans helped cause, and great swathes of the country are taken in by it.

If God forbid Reform did get into power, they could pull up the drawbridge and watch the economy collapse or carry on as normal and hope they don’t get called out for being liars.

I'd hate to see what they do with the Nationalities & Borders  Act, Police Crime Sentencing & Courts Act and The Public Order Act. The could use them for justification of shutting down virtually any protests against them and throwing people in prison who protest against them and creating a two tier form of citizenship between pretty much anyone who isn't born and raised 3 generation British and anyone who has at least one grandparent, parent or where themselves born outside of the UK.

The Tories really did push through some absolutely rotten acts at the end of their premiership in terms of opening up a can of worms for potential authoritarianism, using Begum and the JSO protesters as emotional excuses to create some pretty scary laws and legal precedents, which are absolutely ripe for populists like Farage to take scary advantage of.

On the recent discussed topic of population change:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5ypdy05jl9o

The US couple, aged 37 and 38, ardently believe that the world needs to have more babies or risk civilisational collapse. They have become the poster children for pronatalism, a movement that believes falling birth rates are a big problem for society. And that big families are the answer.

... these people do realise that the Earths resources are finite and that while population slowdown risks a lot of problems, continual population increase guarantees the exact civilisational collapse they fear, right?

Another "would be hilarious were the beliefs not so sincere and the consequences not so dire" moment.

And in other news, Cory Booker is starting to stand up and be recognised again. Maybe he can make a better tilt at the White House in around four years time.

Incredible feat. I’d have needed the toilet at least 10 times, probably more.

Now more than ever ideologies like this will be pushed in the states….. this latest Trump regime will be the most destructive ever… his thirst for oil and desire to become economically unchallenged will set the planet back centuries…….. it’s a genuinely terrifying period, and because the US is so large, and has such an extensive international footprint the impact around the world will be profound.

Look up the Quiverfull movement, if you dare.

The above being 100% accurate (more's the pity) being said, there is however still time to stop the most damaging aspects of the discussed ideology from being felt in a great many places.

Nobody really seems to care. I read today that Israel are planning a massive ground invasion with the intention of keeping the land they gain

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-expands-military-operation-gaza-defence-minister-says-2025-04-02/

Shame on the west for not only allowing this to happen, but to be also actively funding it

Trump and Netanyahu have already said the end game is the displacement of all Palestinians from Gaza to the Sinai or other Arab nations. The fact that the EU and other Arab nations are so useless and ineffective to put pressure on Israel.Israel wants more land and a " greater Israel ' and Trump is their biggest supporter as a racist of Palestinians,  Arabs and Muslims.

This press conference is so bizarre.

It's unreal.

Bring out a chart made by a 10 year old in Arts and Crafts then get a 9 year old to add the numbers to the chart and divide the 1st column by 2.......

image.png.b39d45c88d80fd595016ae046438d147.pngThis is what it’s all about really. He’s trying to pull up the drawbridge and isolate the US from the rest of the world, so he can make a Libertarian utopia shut off from the rest of the world.

He’s basically Andrew Ryan in BioShock.
