2 one-off games not necessarily reflective of each club's playing squad, manager situation and recruitment system for next season

Southampton are ****ing shit, in every sense of the word…. Hence the 12 points. We’ve been bad this season, but we’ve not been that bad by any stretch of the imagination……. You’re just catastrophizing the situation… Southampton are in much worse shape than we are. We’ve made some major **** ups yes, but with a decent managerial appointment and a half decent summer I expect us to be in the race to win the league, that however, entirely depends on the decisions made at board level, not the state of the club.

It also shows what utter guff people talk on here when they say we could struggle next season when you look at players they lost.

We could lose 10 players and still easily piss this shit league.

Someone give me a beep beep. All aboard HMS PISS THE LEAGUE once more!

Win the league with what players though? Think Mavididi and Fatawu are the only signings in the last couple of years that have improved the first 11.

Do you really trust this recruitment regime to reinvest wisely?

Add hermansen and winks to that from same window.

Even someone as abysmal as Rudkin can manage to recruit well for this level with our budget.

The issue last couple of windows was wage budget so I'd expect us to have a much higher ceiling this time too.

It's not all doom and gloom.

It's quite obvious Hermansen, Doyle, Mavididi, Fatawu, Yunus and Casadei were Enzo signings or recommended to Enzo by his contacts. No chance at all Rudkin knew who any of them were. Coady nailed on Rudkin. Winks was an easy PSR deal with Maddison going to Spurs, Cannon was dodgy and probably had something to do with PSR too.

Enzo asked them to get Winks. Was one of his first requests. Hermansen was actually scouted and was then picked by Enzo out the few they recommended to him.

Fatawu was a Glover find. Enzo said as much himself. I'm not convinced Rudkin has any role to play in the actual scouting of players.

“He’s a player that is thanks to Martyn Glover. He’s a player he showed me this summer. When I saw him I said this is the right profile we need. It was Martyn Glover’s idea.”

Wonder if we'll put in a cheeky bid for Rudoni. KDH's goals and assists will be a massive loss this season and he certainly appears to have the gift of providing and scoring goals at this level.

He was one of my cheap KDH like for likes, along with Alvyn Sanches. Rudoni even looks like KDH.

£20 to your charity we don't even make the play offs

I’m not saying we will, if we get the summer wrong we could even go down.

But suggesting we’re worse than Southampton is just plain stupid. We clearly aren’t are we?

Anyone who thinks we do a double relegation hasn't been watching much Championship football this season.

Even last night, the quality was absolutely ****ing terrible.

We'll get big earners off the books, get a fee for one or two sellable players and have a bit of elasticity to buy. All three relegated sides would have beaten Coventry or Sunderland last night.

Exactly. I watched Derby vs Stoke on the final matchday, the drop off in quality from the top teams to the relegation scrappers is arguably as wide as the Prem.

And these teams have no budget compared to top level football so the gap isn't being bridged.

We put six past QPR when we couldn't score with Bonnie Blue in the Premier League. Let's have it right - we don't finish below eighth without a genuinely catastrophic summer or massive points deduction.

Then remember our squad is much worse than when we last went down and we don't have £90m worth of players to cash in on...

I don't think this matters nearly as much as it first seems.  Don't forget that whilst we sold better players for more money, we also had much bigger debts/deficits to repay for PSR.

Somebody on here might have already done some fag packet maths to see if we'll actually be worse off in that regard.

Stolarczyk

JJ

Coady

Nelson

Thomas

Skipp

Ricardo

Fatawu

McAteer

Mavididi

Daka

That’s a team of players that I think are likely to still be here next season (Ricardo at CM because can see the others all leaving), that team easily finishes top 6 in the Championship and some.

The name is the thing there. I suspect Thorgan Hazard benefited a bit from it as well.

Tractor boy here. KMcK is secure at Portman Road for the next season unless he wants to go.

But why would he ? Town are a half finished prodject.

Yes, we will lose a few players but most supporters are looking forward to next season.

The players are with him, the Board have his back, the season tickets are selling well. (I have mine @ £31/month).

Bring on the Foxes, bring on the Budgies. Feeling good.

Remember, 2 years ago we were in Div 1.

Looking forward to Saturday. Hope to see the legend that is Vardy on his last legs.

He deserves a good send off. But not too good a send off if you know what I mean.

I'll be there.

Perhaps a bit early.

What a depressing list. Hoping they get O’Neil to get one uninspiring, dull choice off Rudders’ list.

I'm hoping Wayne gets the nod. He has done such a good job at Derby, Brum and Plymouth.

Perfect for the Budgies.
