Get Paramount+ they show a lot of Championship games for about $6

I have paramount+ but two years ago they only showed like 5 games through the whole season. I know the EFL struck a new deal with CBS last year but I don’t know if it included an increase in Leicester games shown. I do know that it contains an obligation to show AT LEAST 150 games throughout the season, but that doesn’t necessarily mean more Leicester games..

We'll be in or around the playoffs unless we have a catastrophic summer or unprecedented points deduction.

Sheffield United could have had a 20 point deduction and still finished fifth.

I will be surprised if we aren't top 4. The Championship is terrible. People forget that our crappy players like Faes and Vestergaard looked like Puyol and Maldini down there.  Sheffield United will lose some players. Ipswich will be up there, as well as Southampton. Don't see many others being stronger than us.

If we don't get promotion next year though, then we really are in danger of being stuck down there.

Absolutely.. RVN and Cooper would get top 6 easy with that horrid squad we have. Yes the manager is huge but the quality of a championship squad can easily drag a team to promotion itself. I dont want Martin personally but he will get us in that promotion group comfortably i think.

yes we will lose players but we will still get good players in for that league.

its if we get promoted with that horrible possession based football is where it falls apart 1000%.

Sorry but that’s an awful (but very Leicester), ‘Players to consider’ list!

Majority of them would be on massive wages and not be coming for any reason but. We need to get the PSR problems under control not add to them.

Kelman the exception. Oh and Doyle but I thought he was below average when he was with us before so wouldn’t go near him.

Given we should be targeting players on the up, who will see us as an exciting move, and who won’t be wanting wages that will send us into another 5 years of PSR mess, I’d rather;

Harry Darling (over the likes of Keane and Lascelles)

Charlie Savage (over Ward Prowse)

Just no need for the Bobby De Cordova Reid disrespect....

Dolan and Darling would be the 2 free transfer that I'd like from that list.

We may not need a left back as JJ says he prefers playing there so if woyo is up to speed covering for Ricardo's inevitable injury we should be good.

We have to find an answer upfront and it needs to be someone up and coming for me. I know others have mentioned Kelman and Kone who could be good options. I wonder if Evan Ferguson fancies a season in the championship to get himself back on track?

Darling and Brownhill from that list would be great. Brownhill sounds unfashionable but he is the right side of 30 still, in his prime and would replace the goals and assists we had from KDH last time out.

To be honest, I forgot BDCR even existed. Hopefully he goes but we probably will be stuck with him.

JJ can say what he likes, he was HORRIFIC this year and even if it is in the Championship, I think he would be lucky to even be a part of the squad, covering both right and left back but I still think we need a starting LB and with Ricardo inevitability getting injured, it would leave Woyo and JJ at RB.

Those two from that list would be good with me, I would also take a chance on  Brownhill and Jamal Lewis too but would make an attempt at Firpo on a free from Leeds first.

Really don’t think we need to sign a full-back, even if one leaves. All of them are good enough for the Championship and we also have Aluko coming through. We’re well stocked there.

Posted

We also need to remember there will/should be academy break out players such as Aluko, Cartwright, Braybrooke, Alves, Golding, Page etc that can become squad members, so the need to replace outgoings with all new signings is not going to be necessary.

Critical positions where we will need to bring new signings in will be goalkeeper to challenge Jakub, striker or two to replace Vardy and an attacking midfielder to replace the void of both Facu and BEK leaving.

Then it may be a case of the odd additional signing if there are any unexpected or additional departures. In total I can’t see more than 5-6 new signings with the rest being academy promotions.

GK - assuming it’s RM and assuming Mads gets sold I think we’ll bring in a new number 1. Stolarcyzk is not good enough with ball at his feet which will hinder his chances.

New - Stolarcyzk - Youth

Sell - Hermansen

End of contract - Ward and Iversen

FB - I can see RM using inverted full backs and a as a bit of a left field move I could see him using Nelson there. He’s been described as Stones-esque and this would allow him to move into midfield to get on the ball. Ricardo could buddy up with him on one side with JJ and LT from the left. All of them could move into a back 3 in possession as well. Choudhury can also play there and Aluko plays both sides which gives him opportunity for minutes.

Nelson, Ricardo, Justin, Thomas, Choudhury, Aluko

Sell - Kristensen and Coulibaly

CB - Harry Darling looks a no brainer. Coady to stay and Souttar to come back in when fit. Nelson in reserve and Choudhury could play there at a push.

Darling, Coady, Souttar, Nelson

Sell - Faes, Vestergaard

Loan - Okoli

CM - Winks and Skipp will be good midfielders in the championship. Choudhury can fill in there and would like to see Golding get some minutes. Would need one more in the door - ideally someone box to box who has room to improve for if we get promoted. Ricardo can also play there if needed.

Winks, Skipp, New, Choudhury, Golding, Ricardo

Sell: Ndidi and Soumare

wingers - Fatawu and Monga to compete on the right and Mavididi and Mcateer from the left. Possibly our strongest position without signing anyone. Alves can play wide too if needed.

Fatawu, Monga, Mavididi, Mcateer, Alves

Sell: BDCR, Ayew

10 - ideally we keep BEK and have Alves to deputise. If he leaves we would need to bring another in.

Striker - if we can I would sign two and have them with Evans as our options. If we can’t shift Daka he would have to be 2nd choice with a better finisher coming in to replace.

People seem to be forgetting golding. Not that I am convinced he will be useful but another option

If it's RM it's a no brainer to keep Vestergaard imo - showed under Enzo it works in that league

He is on huge money. I don’t think we can justify paying him that much when there is better value elsewhere

How to we 'unpay' him then?

This is EXACTLY why we shouldn’t be employing Martin. It’s just more of the same from the same old washed up hasbeens we all hate with terrible mentality, we need the swamp draining not topping up with more excrement. Next he will be saying what a top midfielder Soumare and how we should utilise his talents, how Daka is a top class international striker

Sell him or agree to a termination

And can you not see the 2 issues here?

To sell him, someone needs to buy him and he needs to agree to go as well.

If we terminate his contract, then we will have to settle it. Maybe both parties can come to an agreement that we only pay 50% of the contract but there isn't a free option to cover a termination, and if i was the player my starting position would be 100% of the contract. If the incoming manager says that this player 100% suits my objectives, then terminating now would seem premature.

A lot will depend on if he had a significant relegation clause in the contract which would have meant that for him moving on would be an easier option.

To be clear - i'd rather not see him play for us next season either.

Fruk for attacking midfielder might be ambitious, I like Jamie Donley on loan from Spurs, and I'm big on Luciano Valente from Groningen.

Striker is the tough one, Kvistgaarden would be perfect but likely beyond our reach. Kyogo would be great but maybe again, too ambitious.

bookies are obviously taking in a points deduction as 14/1 for a team that finished 17th in the prem is huge. Usually we would be favourites.

But to be 14/1 in the league that is terrible and probably as weak as it has been in the last 15 years just shows how much of a mess we are in.
