It should be handed to Blackburn, but i am reading that the complaint is the pitch was unplayable in the 2nd half so i suspect you are right.

 

Everyone involved should be forced to watch a 1970's match on a mudfest pitch.

I don't disagree at all with this. For me, if a result can't stand then it's as if it never happened. Definitely not fair but....should the goal scorer still be credited with a goal as well?  I think so as that could be a contract target he now misses on.

 

I think the right thing to do is award Blackburn the 3 points. If not, I would like to see the replay done at 0-0 with ipswich down to 10 for the whole game. Think thats a fair trade. Won't happen.

Well if we’re being fair, I know for a fact none of us would accept a loss if there’s 10 minutes left and the game was stopped. 
 

let’s imagine for a second we were still chasing the Oxford game and they stopped it with 10 to go (and we were still down) there’s no way we’d say that’s fair

yeah but you forgetting the fact Ipswich was down to 10 men from the 49min as well, if they want to be fair you either give blackburn the win, or start from the 79min with Blackburn still winning, ipswich down to 10 and the same teams subs etc

but that doesnt seem reasonable on anyone, as it would be a 10 min game. even then it still doesnt sit right

 thing is on us at Oxford, its all ifs and buts

No wonder we turned the EFL/premier lge in knots their rules are utter nonsense, look at reg 34.2

 

‘EFL regulation 34.2 states that if a match "falls short of 90 minutes’, it may be ordered to count as a completed fixture or be replayed in full or in part on whatever terms and conditions the board" decides.’

 

So basically it’s down to a board regardless big how many minutes short of 90, why not just state that as the ‘Reg 34.2’ what’s the point of mentioning the 3 options.

 

We just know it’s being played in full, the red stands but it doesn’t actually state if it means Greaves just can’t play in a replay or if Ipswich must start with 10 players.

EFL suck at writing and implementing rules. 

 

Honestly, for a governing body of a sport watched by millions they are incompetent
