Am I the only one who thinks it would be an injustice if the the Blackburn v Ipswich game isn’t replayed?

it’s only 1-0. Yes they’re down to 10 men but you’re all acting like no team has ever equalised from such a position, which is of course a nonsense.

if LCFC were in Ipswich’s position I find it hard to believe this forum would be gladly giving Blackburn 3 points?

I was at the infamous Ipswich snow game which should have been called off at 75 minutes and stayed as a 3-0 win to them.

The pitch has to be reasonably playable and it looked like it wasn't. 1-0 and a man advantage should see them win but it isn't fully certain. I reckon it will be replayed in full. I feel for Blackburn in this instance but I think the score was too close to let it stand.

tbf would seem a bit of bias if they was to fully replay the game, given the fact Blackburn was winning and had the man advantage too.

look at it the other way, would our fans be pleased if it was fully replayed and Ipswich won and they got say the last play off spot over us?

its a massive can of worms, ideal world they play the last 10 mins with the same players available on each side, blackburn winning and Ipswich a man down

I'm still pissed off that our game in the blizzard at Portman Road didn't get called off all these years later, but at the same time we'd done the damage to ourselves by going three nil down before it was unplayable, and the ref bottled calling it off.

So yeah, wouldn't be the first time Ipswich have had spawny luck from mother nature.

I mean given that no other games (some very close geographically to Blackburn) didn’t get abandoned, part of me thinks tough as it was Blackburn who couldn’t keep their pitch playable.

Can see this being the most open Championship promotion race for a long time.

Feels like we're awful not somehow still in the mix. If we even half get it together we've a real chance

Wonder if Ipswich will give Blackburn a goal lead in the rearranged game

Talking about abandoned games reminds me of Denis Law. Scored 6 goals for Man City and game abandoned when 6-2 up against Luton. Goals wiped from his record and Man City lost the replay!

I remember when we had a match abandoned at half time against Forest, and were 1 nil down, when it was replayed their goalie was allowed to score a goal immediately after kick off.

It was an odd bit of sportsmanship, or am I imagining it 🤔

That was after Clive Clarke suffered a heart attack during half time in League Cup match

Oxford are decent to be fair given their technical limitations. I thought their pressing was impressive, far better than anything Cov or Brum did to us.

Only other team to do that to us to that level so far has been Preston, and we saw what happened. Horrible to play against, they're going to struggle to get the points but they're clearly up for the fight.

Oxford were really good today. Dominated the middle of the pitch which no one has done against Bristol this season and their number 7 was unplayable on the right wing and scored a worldie.

Impressed how positive they were even at 2 up.

As someone else said elsewhere the Championship this season is gonna be crazy open.

That Oxford result shows how poor this division is. Whilst most will agree we haven't ripped up any tress, I can't see 6 teams being better than us (without points deductions).

Even with a points deduction.  We still will finish at least 6th.

Okay then play the final 10.5 minutes behind closed doors with 10 men.

This won't happen.

IMO the result should remain. Doesn't mean I'd like it if we were on the receiving end but as a neutral I think Blackburn should be awarded the win in this scenario. I'd like the EFL to write into their rules that if a game has gone past the 70th minute and is postponed for adverse weather, the result stands.

If we don't get automatic promotion it would be a travesty this division is dog muck, we have the players definitely to finish in the top 2, but whether or not we can get it by being more clinical with our opportunities and showing that ruthlessness remains to be seen, but here is hoping Marti can do the business.
