I agree with the idea of points deductions instead of fines but this is the real downside. Sheffield Wednesday essentially have a meaningless season for another 25 games.

They seem particularly poor at home .

Mind you we really should have beaten them last week .

I didn’t see your match against them.

You guys are kinda middle of the pack. Not far out of a playoff spot. Are the natives restless, or sort of where you'd expected you'd be at this point?

A lot of draws isn’t helping which frustrates a lot of people.

Attack fairly well with some good young players but are very open at times and only kept one clean sheet all season which isn’t great .

As long as you're not playing us next season ;)

The maddest thing is that I'm starting to think we could still sneak into the playoffs even if we get an 8-10 point deduction.

It'll be tight but the league's so ridiculously congested, all we'd have to do is put together a bit of a run, 4 or 5 wins in a row maybe, and we'd chew through the difference and start to leapfrog teams again. We've just managed 7/9 even with our Jekyll and Hyde 45 minute performances, 4 of those coming against playoff contenders.

It's LCFC so I'm not doubting our ability to go on another losing streak that puts it to bed, but at the very least the past few weeks have calmed my nerves about a relegation battle. We'll be mid-table at worst now the right players are getting the minutes.

See I don’t. It was all on Chansiri. He should be punished not the club and fans.

Remember the uproar that the super league 6 shouldn’t be deducted points because ‘it was not the fans fault and the fans don’t deserve to be punished’. Double standards that nobody makes the same arguments for situations like Wednesday.

We are a different situation as a lot of our fans are complicit through blindly supporting the regime that are causing the threat of points deductions, without demanding accountability or change. So I couldn’t really make the same argument towards it not being fair on our fans.

Seeing how bad we are, yet how close we are to the playoffs still, really shows how bad a league this is.

Its competitive, yeah, competitively sh1t!

I know 3 season ticket holder who went to the Norwich away game. They have had season tickets all their lives and blindly support the team; they don't seem to show any passion or have any problem with the way the club is heading. This decline doesn't anger them. They go to the games and clap the players off afterwards. In fact, I think they would still clap if the players came over at the end and threw excrement into the crowd.

I genuinely fear promotion, and speaking to Southampton fans down here they are feeling the same and don’t want to go up.

next season should be fun, Wolves are joining us and I’d love to see West Ham down.

Stoke at the time we played them were 3rd I think and genuinely looked like a bottom half side I thought.

What's the alternative, stay down for years and still not be ready?

We didn't look ready for long periods of 2014/15 but soon turned it around and many would've said Sunderland weren't ready this year and had a great summer window.

I just don't see the point in not wanting to progress. It's better to come straight back down with PL money in the bank than fall behind similar sized clubs at this level.

Getting promoted is more important than just floundering in the championship.

Difficult one isn't it.

Get promoted, get players on silly contracts, get stuffed every week, relegated, rinse and repeat.

Alternatively,  rot in this hideous league forever.

Of course we want to get promoted,  I just dont trust that we would do things right under this board.

Also don't think we have a single player that could cut it in the Prem. Perhaps James, who isnt even our player.

Exactly. And it’s not about saying people shouldn’t go. It’s not about saying people also shouldn’t get behind the team. In the past few game, we have seen a lot more from those on the pitch to deserve the backing of the fans anyway.

It’s about holding the clubs accountable. Be that Aiyawatt, Rudkin through to the manager and players. You can do that whilst attending and supporting the club. People seem to think it’s one or the other.

But yeah, our fan base can’t complain that the fans are being punished for the clubs actions as and when the penalties hit.

Why would you not want your club to play at the highest level possible. I don't want to play in anything other than the top tier.

Get it right and it's fine. Ask Sunderland.

Last time we got promoted it was weird as Maresca walked out. That very rarely happens.
