People moaning about not being able to give tickets to their mates/family etc. Completely understandable but I’ve said it before, if anything, it’s become a lot easier to transfer tickets.

Add the ticket to your wallet

Press the little Information icon in the bottom right

Scroll down to find the barcode

Screenshot said Barcode

Send the Barcode to your mate/family etc

All the ticket scanner needs is a barcode. You don’t even have to meet the person to hand the season ticket over and back.

That's all good at the moment, but they are bound at some time to switch on dynamic ticketing rendering this redundant.  You can though transfer your ticket to a mate up to five times which is equally as forward as the above. I am one if the few that like digital ticketing but do think they should increase transfers to 10 times a season to recognise the reality that a number of fans have shared their STs for years.

I was undecided regarding cancelling our season tickets, which we pay by direct debit, until speaking to our son. However, I've just received an email to say thank you for renewing? Is it therefore too late to cancel should I want to?

No you still can if you wish.

Unless the club shits out an official way of sharing a ST equally with someone else at the last minute it looks like I'm done with it. Have discussed it with the guy I share with and we can't be arsed with any workarounds or whatever, so have made our peace with not going anymore

Simple email telling them not to renew,

It's a shit tactic to make people think it's too late and just another aspect of this shit football club treating people terribly.

It's March ffs

Its probably a sign that its dawning on the the board that season ticket sales are going to be down.

I was surprised at how full the ground was against Man Utd, but then thats probably re-sold season tickets and it makes you wonder if the club has realised that won't work against Cardiff or Plymouth on a Tuesday.

They could easily be looking at 25k crowds next year.

To be honest, it would probably cost less than the £25 they want for a piece of plastic to get a burner phone with NFC - doesn't even have to be a good one, it's been common tech for a decade now. Might even have one sat in a drawer at home that could be repurposed.

Cheap PAYG Sim, keep it to the absolute basics, maybe a data only deal in case something goes wrong and you need to connect to the internet away from WiFi. Tie the season ticket to a generic email you use for footy and nothing else. Simple lock everyone you share it with can remember (1884, 2016, etc). Obviously don't put any other personal stuff on the phone.

Continue as before, just share the cheapo phone instead of a card. I don't agree with digital ticketing but where there's a will there's a way to get around it.

it's probably been pointed out earlier, but the Email the Club sent out today ("Your Seat Awaits – Renew For 2025/26 Now!")  contained the following section:

DIGITAL TICKETS FULL ROLL-OUT

Our full roll-out of Digital Tickets will continue, in compliance with Premier League standards, regardless of divisional status...

So we're annoying 10,000 season ticket holders, by applying a standard, that doesn't apply to us.

What a club ...................

I’m pretty sure it’s more than 10,000 that still had a birra plastik

For the person asking if anyone has tried emailing the club about being forced to go digital I did and just got a copy/paste standard reply telling me all season tickets would be digital unless you are in one of the 3 exempt categories, so a total waste of time, as I already knew that.  The point I was making to them is that I do have a phone, perfectly satisfactory for me, but it is old and basic, I would not be able to download a ticket into a wallet, so I would have to spend money on a new phone just so I could still go to the football. I resent having to do that.    Now unsure what to do, really want to continue going to matches, having been a season ticket holder since the 90's, but feel the club has lost all connection with the supporters recently and the response to my email just shows they have no interest in the individual supporter or engaging with them .  I 'm not interested in the "matchday experience" , to me Leicester win I'm happy, Leicester lose , I'm miserable, that's my matchday experience .  I think they are going to be shocked by how many do not renew.

I’ve asked exactly the same thing… and got the exact same response….. the question I’ve posed back is, what if I don’t have the means to have an e ticket? What then? I’m awaiting a response.

The club don't care if you don't renew . They can sell the ST at a higher price to someone else. More money for them to waste.

True for next season. Goodluck doing so in 2/3 seasons time if we're still in the Championship.

We've seen how poorly away tickets are selling at the minute, must be costing them a few quid, whilst obviously not being huge amounts.

Another club completely ignoring the input of it's fan base

Just box ticking, they were never going to listen.

I know several match going Leeds fans that are pissed off about the club.

Leeds seem to be a good example of exploiting loyalty. Wasn't that long ago they never used to open the top tier, the club seem to have forgotten that.

There are 4 of us who sit together in an area that will be safe standing next year. One of us isn't renewing so my mate asked the club if he could move one space to the right so the remaining 3 tickets are still together. The person on the phone said he needs to apply to the ballot for safe standing, TO MOVE ONE SPACE TO THE RIGHT. I'm not even surprised at this point

We’ll all be able to lie down and have 4 seats each next season. There is no demand. Easy win for the club and the fu©️king fan engagement ©️unting framework

Well done Trust for “putting the pressure on” regardless.

Seeing that you're in the know on this kind of thing, surely you're happy about what happened this week leading up to this?
