FFS Ruud is gonna be kept on isn't he?

Not so sure.

This is just typical of a relegated side playing without any pressure and, in some cases, for moves away.

Francesco Farioli seems to be leaving Ajax because their board constantly broke promises to sign players and replace Bergwijn and Forbs. The club hasn't extended the contracts of Klaasen or Pasveer yet either, and are in negotiations to re-sign Dusan Tadic who Farioli doesn't want. I think Ajax had the third-best squad in the division but he got them challenging for the league (and at one point were 9 points clear in first, but they fell off and finished second by one point. In fact they were 9 points behind PSV early in the season too.).

I rated what he did at Nice really highly last season too. Think he'd probably go to another top flight club in Italy or France but I'd like him here.

We know this. Unfortunately our owner isn’t a football man and/lacks the intelligence to realise this. With RVN likely being his appointment according to accounts at the time, it gives him a reason to dig in and not let his ego get the better of him…

I think now Vardy has left, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we start to see and hear more about Ruud’s position, the next 7 days will be interesting, Top is here and the season concludes next week so highly likely  it will be decided this week the direction of travel for next season.

I would not be shocked to see RVN relieved of his duties before the weekend and BBM

and Kingy see out the last game vs Bournemouth.

I also hope that if the plan has been to move on RVN which the mood music would suggest, then they have already made their mind up in who the replacement will be and if it is Rohl then I will be happy and excited for the new season.

I sincerely hope there's something in this, but I do wonder if the mood music and distraction of Vardy's last game being over now means that the narrative shifts to next season and beyond. The 2014-2021 era is now unequivocally over and it's time for a new start with a fresh sheet of paper. I would hope that Top would see that as time for a new, progressive manager overseeing a completely fresh team that could grow together over the next two or three years as Pearson’s team did. Röhl clearly wants out of Sheffield Wednesday and Still is available if we get our skates on.

Got told he's in the driving seat now, Top wants Rohl .

Unfortunately, you’ve just summed up the ‘rigorous process’ used to appoint managers by our board…

To be fair, I think an article I read recently, might have been from Pearcy sad that Rohl was in consideration when we appointed Ruud, but the financial aspect might have been an issue. Sure for a Prem team compensation was more than for a Championship team.

I'd be on board with Rohl, with the slight caveat that he hasn't used many younger players(they might not be good enough at Wednesday). Hopefully he'll see he has a good bunch here if he were to be appointed.

He’s been here since Monday and no sign of the usual immediate departure post game. So I think there’s definitely work going on and decisions being made.

i don’t think it’ll be until after Bournemouth though as it seems we need the £3m from 18th to pay his compo and balance accounts.

If Ipswich finish 18th I think he’s here until end of accounting period or even given a chance, absolute mess 🙈

You must have inside knowledge on our accounts to be this precise in your calculations!

I probably should have added "my thoughts are" lol

But... as others have argued i'd see no reason for him to still be here if it wasn't a financial thing.

And it's also not beyond the realms that his pay off would be circa £3m is it with 2 years remaining

If the rumour is true that Glover will have more influence and Rudkin is being moved into a more general role, then Rohl will surely be very high on our list given they worked together. And we have a record of going back after targets - Rodgers and Potter most recently, and of course we re-appointed Pearson.

It would be absolutely bizarre to sack now with one game to go, come on. Just get Bournemouth out of the way, then he and we can part ways, as may be best for all concerned.

Spoke to soon, on his way home :P

Wow, Southampton’s dugout will be busy next season with Rohl, Still and Cleverley as managers!

The media seems to be ‘absolutely sure’ it’s going to be one then then next. Probably the media having no clue but if that’s not the case, Southampton doing their business very publicly doesn’t look great in that none of them really seem like ‘their guy’ who they are going all in on….

Hmmmm

Will probably get a decent job in a top five league.

But his style of play at Nice was nothing to write home about, dull as dishwater.

He said he wants to manage in England.

Lyon were a mess when he stepped in last season, improved them dramatically and they ended finishing 6th.
